Ubique's Weekly
A Mutual Endeavors Publication
Issue #63 ~ 14 December 2004
The Blurb The Four Oxen and the Lion A Lion used to prowl about a field in which Four Oxen used to dwell. Many a time he tried to attack them; but whenever he came near they turned their tails to one another, so that whichever way he approached them he was met by the horns of one of them. At last, however, they fell a quarrelling among themselves, and each went off to pasture alone in a separate corner of the field. Then the Lion attacked them one by one and soon made an end of all four.
The moral of the story? United we stand; divided we fall. Greetings once again, loyal Ubique's subscribers. This week is once again full of changes. Though our structure here at Ubique's Weekly has altered, our goals still remain constant. During the past couple of weeks I have seen quite a bit of changes. UW now is managed by a small handful of people instead of solely myself. The establishment of the Ink Wire Associates is I think the best thing that I have ever endeavored to do concerning this publication. My message has always been a clear one. To roleplay happily and successfully online, we all must endeavor to cooperate with one another. Through good and bad, thick and thin. All of you are each representatives of that ideal. That no matter what happens, we will always be able to enjoy what we are doing. We will never give up.
At least, that was my hope. During the past month I have seen first hand what it means to quit. I have received not quite half a dozen requests to be removed from the mailing list. At least four subscribers cancelling their subscription. Detaching themselves from the world view of what is happening in Rhy'Din and beyond. Here, there, and everywhere. Those few have finally decided that they could no longer fight the good fight. They no longer had the willpower to struggle onward along the path they had once chosen. Now they walk different paths and I can only wish them well on their future journeys. Though I know they will not see these words.
However, the losses we have accounted for seem trivial in comparison to all that we have gained. One of our subscribers brought something to my attention recently that has increased our numbers. In our Classifieds every week, we run a string of links related to the Red Dragon Inn and the PaP message boards concerning that particular environment on AOL. In the Players Assisting Players folder, there is a thread entitled An IC RDI Newspaper. Up until this point I do not believe I have previously mentioned it. But at 3:00 in the morning, chances are my mind is a little off on its memory. On that particular thread, Ubique's Weekly was mentioned. And I am honored to know that our little publication here has received some recognition since its beginnings. At this point in time I would like to thank Arix Marigr for making mention of our publication. And I would also like to thank PrlUnicorn for directing me to the exact thread. If it were not for these two members, I doubt that we would have earned as much publicity as we have thus far.
With those thoughts in mind, I would also like to welcome our newest subscribers. I hope that you all find Ubique's Weekly to be as enjoyable and informative as it has been for everyone else this past year and more. I would also like to encourage each and every one of you, new and old subscribers alike. If you truly do enjoy our publication, do not hesitate to forward a copy to your fellow roleplayers and friends. Encourage them to subscribe. Word of mouth is the best form of publicity that any organization can utilize. How do you think we've gotten this far? If it were not for the dedication, inspiration, support, and enjoyment that I have of this publication ... Ubique's Weekly would not live up to its name. That being ... here, there, and everywhere. Now enough babbling out of me. Let's get on with the news!
Top Story! The Essence of Rolplaying
Hello readers! There has been some recent debates on the PaP boards about what constitutes good role play. There are those that think typing with so-called "one liners" is bad form. Then there are others that cringe when people flood rooms with line after line after line of overblown flowery prose. Here is my take on the matter. Keep it simple yet eloquent and have fun. Do not be afraid to use common words. Eyes can be eyes, and lips can be lips. Adjectives in my not so humble opinion are like seasonings. One wants to add enough spice to bring out the flavor of the dish, but if one adds too much, the only thing noticed is the overpowering flavor of the spice itself and the whole concept of the dish itself is lost. Keep in mind we are all playing here to have fun, not impress the Great Thesaurus God. That said, there is one thing in free-form role play that is far more important than any sort of writing style. What is this magic thing you ask? Why it is nothing more than cooperation. It is always bad form to try and force one's own whims on another character. In role-play (as well as so many other areas of life) what is known as the "golden rule" applies. Do onto others as you would have them do onto you. Ask yourself this. Would you like it if someone came along and decided to kill your character without your permission, or suddenly slap a bunch of background story onto your character without clearing that with you first? Chances are quite likely the answer is no. So with the spirit of cooperation in mind, game on!

Storyline Spotlight A repeat from a very old issue of Ubique's Weekly. Presented as an idea of what sort of things make for a good Storyline Spotlight.
Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery is located in the Western side of Old Rhydin Town, one of the many shops along the cobblestone streets. Among its neighbors are MacGyldren Woodcrafts, owned by Ariana MacGyldren's husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and Aldo's Restaurant. The Bakery itself is a rather impressive brick structure with a picture window across the front of the shop, save for the front door, which allows passersby to see the displayed baked goods and candies made fresh daily from the street and large windows on either side of the rear kitchen area to allow passersby to observe the bakers at work. Inside there is a large stone hearth with comfortable chairs and tables around to allow customers to relax and eat in comfort. There are also stools at the long teakwood and glass fronted display counter for additional customers. All of the glass-fronted display cabinets and other woodworking craftsmanship in the Bakery was done by Ariana's husband Galen and her brother in law Galen and paid for by a mysterious benefactor. There is no sign of the massive vandalism done to the bakery around Yule 2001. Among the employees of Divine Delights Bakery are Allison (Allison Reynor), Ariana's sister and co-owner of the Bakery; Melly (Melanie Wyndham), the main counter help and relief baker; Troy (Troy Embry), the main deliveryman for the Tech sector and Ariana's nephew; Joey (Joey M Masters), the main deliveryman for the rest of the area and Ariana's heartson; Ivae (Ivaekiir), one of the taste-testers for the bakery; Cat (Matakhat Cain), another taste-tester for the baker and Sheldon, the accountant for the bakery. The Bakery is kept busy year round producing the finest baked goods and candies in town and along with Aldo's Restaurant, catering many important social events, including the upcoming Rhydin Family Charities fundraiser.
On a side note, Ariana's Divine Delights bakery can be accessed by paying a visit to the message board and writing up some story action. The link to the message board has been listed several times in the Classifieds section, but as of yet I've to see any action going on on the boards. Your characters eat breakfast don't they? Maybe you should have them drop by some time for a pastry or two. -- AG
Shameless plug? Sure ... why not?

This Just In Not many headlines this week. With the upcoming holidays, not a lot of people are online, and most major storylines have fallen to the wayside. But we're still playing! All of you out there, remember to send your headlines to the CHE...ME! Or, rather to Donatelio Harada no later than Midnight on the Sunday before the newsletter is scheduled to be out. That way I can compile them for the Editor and have them in by MY deadline. Well, enough of me jabbering...on with the...
Headlines
Dear Abby?: Throughout all the discussion on an IC newspaper on the PaP boards, there is one in particular that has captured the Editor In Chief of Ubique's Weekly's attention. A question presented by UW subscriber AKrugerAllen: "Are you planning a Dear Deb section?" With this inquiry, the member also submitted a sample question for what could potentially be a humorous addition to the pages of Ubique's Weekly. The Editor in Chief's response was that should Deb subscribe to UW, she would be more than happy to invite her to handle just such a section. The question is ... what do our readers think? Should we include a Dear Deb section in our newsletter? At least a Dear Somebody? For more inspiration, please see the links in the Blurb above.
Ew, I stepped in poi.....: Rhydin Shore Patrol is still investigating a massacre at what appears to have been a luau. Details on the shooting spree are being withheld by authorities. A total of twenty-six people were shot to death with a variety of weapons. Until further notice, a square mile of Rhydin's coast is closed to the public.
How the Valkyrie Stole Christmas: In the tradition of the Spook Spectacular Haunted Hayride events at Dr. Maranya Valkonan's ranch, the good Doctor and her gardener Jack Bishop are planning a Winter Wonderland event for the month of December, the proceeds going to benefit programs at Riverview Clinic. Bring your snow shoes, your mittens, and your sense of humor! (The Valkonan family in no way, shape, form, or fashion take responsibility for any damages by the pranks, jokes, handshakes, or general contact with Jack Bishop.)
Parole from Northedge Academy: The school semester for Northedge Academy ends on the 16th of December, with finals running from December 10th thru the 15th. The last day for term papers is the 16th, no exceptions. Students will receive their report cards on the 21st. The school year resumes with the spring semester on January 11th. All students should arrive on the 5th-8th for re-enrollment and to sign up for courses. We at Northedge wish you all a wonderful holiday season!
Rhy'Din Yellow Pages: Through discussion amongst players about the terrible confusion that transpires concerning precisely what it is that each individual character in Rhy'Din does to pay the bills, a great idea has been born. I felt it would be beneficial to not only display this idea as a UW Advertisement, but also as a Headline. The details as to why this idea came into focus can be reviewd on The Circle (the specific post has been provided via hyperlink). In brief, the question arises, "Who can my character turn to when a certain job needs done?" Many of us have taken great care and have spent many hours devising backgrounds and occupations for our characters. With this in mind, it would only seem logical (and also cordial) to conclude that if your character needed a specific something done that he or she would turn to another player's character who can do just that. To not would be foolish and at times possibly even bigoted.
Therefore, Mutual Endeavors member and fellow storyline collaborator DarkAngelGenesis has taken it upon herself to collect as much information as humanly possible from all of you players in an effort to create Rhy'Din's very own Yellow Pages. Take a moment of your time one of these days and think about what it is your characters do for a living. What are their occupations? How do they make their money? Would other characters come to them in order to make use of their services? An example listing would be:
Rei: Openly - student at Northedge Academy, studies drama, plays football, occasionally works at the Rambling Rose Tavern. Covertly - pickpocket, con artist, and sneak thief.
Use your imaginations and help us to help you by providing all the details that you feel are necessary. In a future issue of Ubique's Weekly, I will be highlighting as much as I can. Perhaps we can even add this into a section of the Mutual Endeavors website. Please send all information to

for these purposes. More information on this as it comes in.
Rogues of Rhy'Din: Months ago it was brought to my attention that a new type of storyline is being built. In some respects it could be considered a guild, but no. While it is centered around a select choice few of character candidates, it is not necessarily guild revival in roleplaying. A great number of characters fall under the category of rogue, and it is plausible to conclude that there would indeed be a Thieves' Guild in the area. Though do not confuse it with the old version of guilds that use to overpopulate the RP scene. This is in fact a group storyline, a collaboration in the works. For more information, please visit the website at: http://www.thievesden.ashadowofme.com/ Their numbers are slowly growing, at least so far as identified rogues are concerned. Perhaps your character can find a place to fit in amongst the underground movement as well!
Sled Into Adventure: The Kodiak Falls Office of Blackjack Adventures is open for business. Think the season ended with the warm weather? Wrong! We have new and exciting adventures for you! Contact Administrative Director of Operations Irina Braeden to schedule an adventure package with Chasz Havery, BJA's resident Mudbogger (See Classifieds for more details).
The Blackjack Family would like to extend our gratitude to those who made our inagugural season such a success. As a token of our gratitude, winter clients will receive discounts on select spring packages. It's just our way of thanking you for your loyalty.
Still On The Crime Beat: Anyone with information on various cases, including the murders of Aileen Hodgeson, Dorothy Peterson, Becky Johnson, Howard Conway, Patricia Miller, Stella Donaldson, and Paul and Mary Hanson is strongly urged to contact Deputy Marshall Wynter. Leave a message with the local PD, or a voice message at 940-555-7002. Remember, your local authority needs your help to solve these cases. You will not be asked to give your name or information about yourself.

In Other News... The most important thing about motivation is goal setting. You should always have a goal. --Francie Larrieu Smith
Of course, our goal is to get as many updates as possible! I am very pleased with the number of individual Character Updates that I received this week. Even more pleased with the efficiency and accuracy in which they were compiled by our newly appointed CNE Ellyn VT. With your help, this is what we have to share for this week:
Ahriman (TheAngraMaiynu): What sort of dark and dastardly deeds could this one currently be up to? Nobody knows just yet. He still seems to be laying low.
Alexander Camael Woods (Emerald Mirror): Finals time has the boy up to his ears in studying. And he thought being free meant he was going to have a life!
Anna (AriannaRavenwood): The blue sister has still not been seen since an appearance at the family gathering for Thanksgiving.
Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren, SMI Ariana): The green sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and daughter Elaine (Elaine Aqua), still resides at her husband and brother in law's clan lands. Except for a recent visit to the Silver Moon Inn, Ariana has pretty much stayed out of the public eye, save to work at her Bakery as usual, busy with the preparations for the upcoming Rhydin Family Charities benefit, along with the usual holiday baking rush.
Aya Aillister (Destiny of Music): The little bardess is currently staying with the Valkonan family, at least over the winter.
Calypso (Lady Proudfoot): Life is good for her serene and royal majesty. She has all the food she could want, plenty of pettings, and is allowed to come and go as she sees fit. Could a cat ask for anything more?
Carmine (TaciturnMerc): The man is as quiet as ever, but his mood is still drastically improved from what it has been. People might wonder if he is taking anything to cause such a change.
Carolyn Valkonan (DreamsInBurgundy): Busy busy week for her! Between studying for finals, finding out secrets, and just being, she's been keeping a move on. She actually managed to get out to see some friends during the past week, and gave Salvador (Peculiar Silence) help with administering a certain bath. And of course there was the toast mine adventure, as well as the viewing of much Ren and Stimpy. Confusion was had by all...except maybe Carolyn herself. Hey, it's all in fun anyway, right? Cassandra Tyra (Against Descent): The Hieracthon spent some time this week under the care of a doctor. Due to certain upheavals in her life, she was unsure of her sanity. Thankfully, that's all been resolved, and she's convinced that she's in her right mind once again.
Dechirant and Fayalki (Dechirant, Fayalki): December 10th marked Fayalki and Dechirant's 4th anniversary. While not the longest marriage in Rhy'Din by any stretch, it has managed to outlast many, and they are looking forward to many more happy years together.
Even more good reason for cheer, their eldest daughter Ahwana Willow turned 3 years old on the 12th of December. Fond wishes are sent to her Aunties, Sylvia and Shy, and Uncles Thorm, Bayland and d'Arc.
During their shift at the inn on the 19th, Fayalki and Dey are planning to serve eggnog--both for the bold and the faint of heart. A large yule log will be burned in the fireplace, and garlands of pine and cranberries strung, and perhaps even mistletoe hung from Elistræd, the stuffed dragon's head over the fireplace.
Everyone is welcome--Fayalki and Dey will pay for everyone's tab on the 19th, so go and have a drink on them!
Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter): The scarred law woman in black continues to work on wrapping up certain investigations (see Headlines). Rachael received information about a recent series of ritualistic murders from an anonymous informant and is currently investigating this lead. She is also working closely with Doctor Nigel Newborn from RCSI on this case. Her investigations keep the Deputy Marshall out of the public eye for the most part.
Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan): She's tending to her patients as usual, including one of the tenders at the Silver Moon Inn. The good Doctor continues to spend time volunteering her medical services at a local free clinic. Maranya is very pleased with the landscaping on her ranch and the upcoming plans for the Winter Wonderland events there. She also visited the Rambling Rose Tavern and the Silver Moon Inn recently to relax. However, the combined strain of keeping up with her busy schedule overall, along with investigating a series of mysterious deaths among some of her young cancer patients and working on changing her employment for the better continues to take its toll on the good Doctor.
Dris (BardGaIIant): 'Tis the season! To be busy, busy, busy. With Yule just around the corner, and a certain Spaniard's birthday just before that, Dris has been quite the hermit lately. Just what does he have in mind? Presents! That's what!
Duncan MacNamara (ThWanderingSaint): Duncan, having recently returned from what was apparently his death, has now been seen sporting a tan stetson, and two revolvers, and calling himself a "Gunslinger." His return has seen a bit of turbulence in the Rambling Rose Tavern, and his feelings for Rose Wylie have become somewhat common knowledge. She recently gave him a bracelet that incorporated a lock of her hair; when Seamus discovered this, there was quite the scene at the Tavern. Duncan has also been showing up to the Tavern in a new motorcycle -- a black Ninja accented with chrome crosses.
Ehzoterik VonArcanum Tempestas (Ehzoterik): Rumor has it that she tried to break into and out of prison this past week. Though details on this particular adventure as a bit fuzzy. Isn't that the case with everything concerning Ehz though?
Elaine (Elaine Aqua): No solo exploring jaunts for Elaine at all. She's been busy with her schoolwork, trying not to obviously get into fights with the kids at school who pick on her and her friend Sal (Peculiar Silence) and helping her Ma, Aunty Allison and Melly (Ariana MacGyldren, Allison Reynor and Melanie Wyndham) with the holiday baking at her Ma's Bakery. The eleven year old misses Beauty but is consoled by taking care of Empress Emerald of Grayfur's kittens, though she's still grumpy that she's not allowed to name the kittens. Elaine really misses her brother Banshee (Banshee Aqua) and really truly doesn't believe he's truly gone.
Emmy (Empress Grayfur): Nine-week-old kittens! Enough said!
Faladar (Afreet Master): As far as Faladar is concerned, escaping from prison is one of the most enjoyable things he's ever done. To make it a little more exciting, he tried to keep out of sight, but was interrupted by a dirty half-mad streeturchin. Glad for the company, they escaped together, though she may have only been his imagination. Nobody knows where the elf is at the moment, but he knows he cannot return to the Rambling Rose with a price on his head. The police attention might upset Seamus, and Faladar could not have that at all.
Faye: She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random): It is only a matter of time before it is necessary for her to depart the realms during the Winter. With that as her driving force, Faye has taken to visiting with old friends to deliver a series of cryptic messages. Rumor has it she was present at the Silver Moon Inn this past week conversing with Ariana MacGyldren.
Gem (Gemethyst): Gem has had a very rough two weeks. She has broken with Kakabel again, on the basis that they just don't have enough time together. He will of course, always hold a part of her heart. He had told her she could take lovers, but on reflection, that is just not something she feels able to do to him. While it is in the nature of the elves of her heritage to do such things, and she indeed, might in the future with another mate, with Kakabel it was not an option she could consider. She had two possible new budding romances, but they were dashed by outside circumstances. She is a very lonely elfess. Her son is impressing her greatly with his exponential rise of maturity, sensitivity and compassion. His support is vital to her, especially at such times as these. She has, sadly, seen him little of late, for in direct proportion to her unhappiness, she is doing more and more burgling. It helps to ease and distract her. However, she has also been far more reckless and risk-taking as a result. Also her promotion to Second in a certain ... organization ... has taken up a lot more time. Paperwork and administration. Bah. A public denunciation of her at the MT occurred during the week, and she suffered the humiltion of having to give a public apology to the offended one. Who, ironically, in the elfess' opinion, was not part of the problem, nor part of the solution. She has lost a friend over this, for while the person is considering accepting her apology for throwing something at that person's friend, that person made it clear that even if she did accept the apology, it did not mean that Gem was forgiven. It would seem that throwing a coin pouch at a man while she was angry at him, which by the way, did not injure him at all, and then sending a note of apology afterwards, rather than a verbal apology, is a heinous crime indeed. Happily, she was able to make a verbal apology the next day, to the assaulted male himself, and he forgave the offense. They spent a pleasant morning together, and all seems to be okay there, to her vast relief. She is most grateful that he is kind enough to let her remain his friend. Rumors of Gem's being enslaved were grossly exaggerated and completely false. A friend gave her a choker, enspelled to alert him if a certain vampiress was attacking her, as she was seen in his company, and said vampiress seemed to be attacking those known to him. It was merely protection offered, not the "slave collar" that some assumed it to be, on sight of it. Upon an explosion of reaction, she removed the offending item from her throat. What good is a thief who is a slave? Bah! As if!!! One can only hope the vampiress will not now attack her.
Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden): In this week's installment, there's still been no news of note or actual sign of this native Rhydin resident around anywhere. Stay tuned.
Jack Bishop (Jackrabbit Blue): Business as usual. Though it is rumored that he spent an evening out on the town with Doctor Valkonan at some point in time. Catching up with old friends and the like. Times like these he really wishes he didn't have so much work to do! Such as putting up with an irate Frenchman whom he affectionately (mockingly) refers to as Old Gaspy. Work, work, and more work! Fortunately the holidays will be over with soon.
Joker (SMI Joker, Richard D Harker): The flirtatious bartender for the Silver Moon Inn worked his normal shift this week. Joker is still worried about his younger brother Nige (Peter N Harker). The elder Harker brother is currently undergoing anger management counseling along with his usual medical treatments from the Valkyrie (Maranya Valkonan). The flirtatious bartender hasn't slowed down at all in the dueling rings, though he did get knocked out the first round in the recent Redwin Tournament. He's happy that a certain Parrot also got defeated in the first round. Joker is trying to figure out what to get Rhi (Rhiannon D Brock) for Christmas. Considering she got him an island for his birthday, that will be a hard present to top. He plans to take Rhi home to meet his family over the holidays.
Jules (Jules Braeden): All is quiet on the computer front. She is now browsing various web stores for those perfect gifts for her family.
Kakabel (Celestial Sorrow): At least one rumor has been proven true. Gem has broken up with the Prince of Stars. How is he handling the situation? Well ... he hasn't been seen in the public eye for months now! He has not discussed his thoughts on the matter with anyone, not even his own son. Whom he has also not seen in quite some time. Aside from the instructions left on tending to his personal studies, Kakabel has not seen nor spoken with Rei in a good long while. Will he be home for the holidays? Who knows!
Lyssa (Lyssa Bjornson): Ariana's shy dollmaking daughter continues to make dolls based on dreams she's been having for a still undetermined reason.
Melly (Melanie Wyndham): The shy relief baker is busy with the preparations for the upcoming Rhydin Family Charities benefit as well as the usual holiday business at Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery. Will she tend bar at the Silver Moon Inn again? The world may never know.
Mer Harriss (Heavy Metal Mer): She's been doing a bit of security updating here and there. Beyond that, she's still thinking about certain things, and getting ready for the holidays.
Micarryl (Still More Drow): Vaen isto Mica elggen natha izznarg orbb wun l' qu'ellar. L' tona' zhahus plynnet phor lu' l' orbb khel belbaunin ulu l' murrpau. Mica zhah vhaid d' uktan.
Mithril (ASaintOfSinners): Mithril is still hard at work doing his best to help those demon prisoners he has in custody walk the path of redemption. In addition to this there are plans in the works to buy some of the finest horses he can find and breed them. He is also seeking out Yule gifts as it has occurred to him that there are people out there that might appreciate getting something from him.
Mozart (Amadaeus Felidae): People just seem to keep showing up at HIS house. What are people thinking bringing in these others without first telling him? This is one irritated cat.
Night (Moonshadowed End): He's only newly arrived to Rhydin, and already he has to deal with Black Spiral Dancers? Ohhh, he's pissed.
Orion Ksyhsravor (Orion Ksyhsravor): He's still waiting for Mer to come to a decision.
Pleione (Stellar Balinese): A dead spider. Who does that black-skinned, pointy-eared male think he is anyway? A cat!? Pshaw! Where's her darned gatekey anyway. No. Pleione is not a happy kitty. The furniture will suffer her wrath and fury.
Rei (AmethystStarfall): Rei is still as busy as ever with school and other assorted projects. When word reached his ears that his mother was worried about him, he took some time out to go see her and tell her that everything is all right with him.
Rekah (BIackTideRising): Rumor has it she got herself subjected to a good scrubbing earlier in the week, and now has a rainbow head of hair to show for it!
Salvador (Peculiar Silence): Sal has still not talked about the dreams he has been having since the night of his mini-coma. To anyone. Though while he remains brooding, he has also taken a few chances to brave the public eye. He spent a late night talking to Carolyn about the matters of "love" and relationships. Then he got it into his head somehow that it would be a good idea to take Rekah home with him. With Carolyn's help, they managed to get the girl with the imaginary friends to take a bath! Plus, Carolyn dyed her hair. He's such a good samaritan for all his macabre interests! Though Rekah comes and goes whenever she pleases, Sal is pleased that he was at least able to offer her that one liberty of an extra bed to sleep in whenever she wants it. Providing his father doesn't disagree with the idea of "renting" out the remaining spare bedroom!
Concerning the matters of "love" and relationships, it seems that Shadi has finally figured out where Sal stands. He isn't ready for such commitments just yet. Afterall, he's only thirteen! Though he is happy that Shadi has decided to continue living at his house and partaking of the free hot meals. The only one that seems to be complaining about the matter is Mozart. Sal has decided that a peace offering is in order, and has turned to bribery. He heard somewhere that cats like fish. Hopefully that'll work.
Shadi (Shadibadoo): Shadi finally understands where he stands these days. Sal is willing to offer comfort and kindness to him, but is apparently incapable of love, and Shadi realizes he'll have to find someone else to be that special someone. Meanwhile, he'll stay at Sal's place for the simple friendly affection, and of course...the hot meals.
Stephen Valkonan (Stephen Valkonan): Once again, this week has been taken up by finals--this time at Northedge itself. Which means a lot of paper grading. Everybody's working for the weekend!
Terrance Tomar-Duncan (Terrance Tomar): In addition to work as usual and preparing for the holidays, Terry has been doing "rehab" work with the demon he captured last week. Needless to say, this isn't any fun for either of them. Perhaps next week he'll try something a little less aggravating, like trying to make cats obey. Tuhor (Tuhor Malikie): The retired mercenary has been spotted around the Medieval Tavern and Silver Moon Inn. Gotta love those creepy old guys. Rumor has it that he's got a few vengeful people from his past following him here.Yoshi (KitsuneNineTails): The kitsune has not been seen all week. Now what could that rascally fox be up to?Zetarris (Zetarris): His real estate agent is now negotiating for a large parcel of land south of Rhydin, several hundred acres. The search for the most cost-effective fencing solution will begin soon. Is he really serious about this ranch thing?? Zohak (ABafflingEnigma): It is time for the holidays! What are holidays anyway? He has found that this is a time that people run about like crazed maniacs and fight each other in stores. This is the happiest time of the year?Zohak also had an unfortunate encounter with a very grumpy woman known as Fury. He did something to cheer her up, but sadly for everyone else that was but a temporary fix.--Ellyn VTCharacter News EditorUbique's WeeklyMutual Endeavors

They have been digging under walls and making themselves at home in habitated domiciles. Great efforts are being made to stop this invasion but as yet education is the best weapon against this horde. The beasts do the most damage to property rather than people unless they feel threatened. Pictures and Pamphlets are available down at the shelter. ALSO: A male elephant of unknown origin has been reported pestering Longilli's Traveling Circus. Any traveling the roads are warned to show extra care. Remember it's always Kitten and Puppy season down at the Shelter. As always more adult dogs and cats need homes than have them. Perfectly fine animals who are homeless by no fault of their own. Also the Rhydin Menagerie is seeking donations. As the weather cools and the cost of good food rises Chief Haverack asks you to please give what you can. Finally, Please Spay and Neuter your pets.
