Ubique's Weekly

Double Edition

A Mutual Endeavors Publication

Issue #57 ~ 5 October 2004

The Blurb

Greetings and salutations Ubique's readers!  A happy Tuesday to one and all.  I must thank you all for being understanding and considerate concerning the delay of the next publication.  I also must thank a good number of you for the well wishes you sent to my husband.  He celebrated a happy birthday.  And he was a bit surprised to hear that my internet friends were considerate enough to care.  So thank you one and all!

Since I missed a week, I'm going to try to unload a lot of news here in a Double Edition of Ubique's Weekly.  What that means is I'll be coverning all the news I received for the past two weeks into one enormous conglommerate of information.  So be patient and bear with me.  There is quite a lot to share.  With all that said, let's get on with the news!

Storyline Spotlight

A couple of weeks ago I was informed by the masterminds behind the Northedge University storylines that I would be receiving a write-up on what's new.  To date I still have not received such information.  With so many characters involved, it would be nice to print something very soon.  I don't mean to rush the creative processes at work, but I feel I'm not the only anxious one out there.  After reviewing old logs I can only make assumptions on certain things.  Such as when the school year officially started at Northedge.  I've heard of uniforms, but my memory doesn't recall the specifics about them.  I only know a few of the teachers by name and what they teach.  Northedge is an enormous puzzle with a lot of missing pieces to fill in.  So help me out here, players.  Share what you know.  It would be interesting to see the different viewpoints of what goes on at Northedge University, wouldn't it?

This Just In

Two weeks worth of Headlines on the way!  My apologies to those who sent in so much two weeks ago, but do not fret.  That news is still prepped for sharing.  Thank you to each and every one of you who submitted something for this edition.

Headlines

Babies!:
On October 3 of this year, the second generation of Limbo kittens was born!  The first born of Cut and Paste's brood, the russian blue Empress Emerald of Grayfur, has become a mother!  Hidden away in the MacGyldren clanlands homestead, this joyful mother has now found herself quite busy taking care of a brood of five.  Two females and three males.  They look a lot like siamese kittens, which pretty much narrows down the possibility of who the father may be.

Fall Into Adventure:
The Kodiak Falls Office of Blackjack Adventures is open for business.  Contact Administrative Director of Operations Irina Braeden to schedule an adventure package with Chasz Havery, BJA's resident Mudbogger (See Classifieds for more details).

The Blackjack Family would like to extend our gratitude to those who made our inaugural season such a success.  As a token of our gratitude, summer clients will receive discounts on select fall packages.  It's just our way of thanking you for your loyalty.

Halloween Masque:
Dey and Fayalki are planning their Fourth Annual Halloween Masque, hosted by Dey's brother Bayland.  This will take place on the 23rd of October, and be held at Dey's ancestral home in Glenchester.  A hyperlink to the actual room will be included in a subsequent newsletter.

All are invited. Wear your favorite costume, as there will be a contest to guess who's behind the Masque.  In this case, "costume" is a temporary screen name you haven't used before in public, or that's unknown to most of those attending.

Invitations will be mailed in time for everyone to make arrangements for the evening.  If you don't get an invitation, come anyway!  Ubique's Weekly will be posting further information in following issues.

Haunted Hayrides:

Notices are being posted throughout the city concerning a special event that will be taking place throughout the month of October.  In celebration of the coming holiday, Dr. Maranya Valkonan will be hosting a Spook Spectacular Haunted Hayride event at her ranch every weekend of the month.  Run by her gardener Jack Bishop, all rides are free of charge.  However, donations will be accepted to help fund a future Winter Wonderland event scheduled to take place in December.  At the start of the trail, volunteers will be selling snacks and beverages: hot cider and slices of pumpkin pie to name a couple.  All are welcome to visit and have their pants scared off!

Mammoth Meddlings:
The Giant Gangs dragnet has gotten only one hit; the pair of Hill Giants who showed up at the Silver Moon Inn were the only ones who got royally flattened by the clientelle when they began asking around for Sulrin.  As it is, they got away alive, which probably means that the Silver Moon Inn is on the Giant Gangs radar.

Things got uglier a few nights later when some Hill Giants dropped by after hours to trash the place.  Caife and Twelve repelled the assault, with Caife taking the only lasting injury.  The Inn repaired most of the damage itself, but this might get worse at any time.

It also appears that the unusual number of Ogres who have been descending from their usual wasteland haunts into the streets of Rhydin city might be acting at the behest of the Giants.  Hill Giants in particular seem to have an affinity for Ogres, and it seems odd that such a large number of them should be in the Giant Gang with no Ogrish accomplice/pets.

Movements of the Horde:

Reports are coming in from all outlying areas that the Orcish Horde has begun moving again.  After a long period of revelry, the green-skinned menace seems to be up to something.  Experts believe that the recent increase in giant activity coincides with the renewed orcish activity.  Valiant, young Gerald Sanford was the first to fall to the renewed Horde.  It seems as though the Horde is mostly engaging in exercises and building projects.  They only strike when provoked by valiant warriors or snooping reporters.  Ink Wire has lost five reporters to the Horde alone.

Several small camps have been established in Rhydin by families displaced by the Horde.  Though they are merely farmers, brave talk has been running through the camps.  Many of the men have sold heirlooms to purchase weapons.  Rhydinian officials are doing everything they can to prevent the farmers from rushing off on some damned fool idealistic crusade.  Between orcs and giants, all the forces of Rhydin will have their hands full.  Let's just hope there are no ants involved!

On The Crime Beat:
Anyone with information in the case of the murder of one Larry "Grabber" Nelson, a perpetrator previously charged with five counts of aggravated assault and two counts of petty theft, around the Silver Moon Inn as of February 29th, 2004, the kidnapping of Irina Braeden on March 21st, 2004, the alleged assault of Morgan Knight at the Silver Moon Inn on April 6th, 2004 and the murder of Paul and Mary Hanson is strongly urged to contact Deputy Marshall Wynter.

Rhydin Baywatch?:  Rhydin Shore Patrol is still investigating a massacre at what appears to have been a luau.  Details on the shooting spree are being withheld by authorities.  A total of twenty-six people were shot to death with a variety of weapons.  Until further notice, a square mile of Rhydin's coast is closed to the public.

Rhy'Din Fight Club?:

At the Silver Moon Inn one night a couple of weeks ago, a professional pit-fighter called Edge was pursued by a small gang of thugs who wanted to express their displeasure at his winning when he was supposed to throw a fight.  He was saved from a sound pummeling, at least, by Toho (XPriestTohox) and Parhi (The Multifarious), at a cost of two dead thugs.  Parhi confiscated a handgun from one of the deceased, and stowed the severed arm of the same unlamented thug in the SMI freezer.  It will probably be disposed of with suitable ceremony, if Twelve doesn't catch sight of it when he's hungry...

Seeing Stars:  Officials of the Rhy'Din PD have discovered yet another trail of bodies that are believed to be related to previous murders city-wide.  Over the past two weeks, investigators have uncovered three mutilated bodies throughout the city.  While two have yet to be identified, there is one that has come as a shock.  Rising theatre starlette Aileen Hodgeson (known more commonly by her stage name Oralie Hoffman) was found dead in a hotel bedroom two weeks ago.  Investigators claim that she was bound with video tape to the bed, blindfolded, and desecrated in a most disturbing fashion.

Investigators believe that the one responsible is also the suspect being sought for the murders of Dorothy Peterson, Becky Johnson, Howard Conway, Patricia Miller, Stella Donaldson, and Paul and Mary Hanson.  Very few leads have turned up concerning these crimes, but one official who wishes to remain unidentified claims that there have been mysterious phone calls coming in.  Some claim that these calls could be nothing more than hoaxes.  Anyone with further true information on these cases is strongly urged to contact Deputy Marshall Wynter as soon as possible.

In Other News...

Tons and tons of individual Character Updates this week.  That's to be expected with the delay.  Much to my dismay, the number of characters listed on the template are dwindling.  As are the number of subscribers.  Hopefully the dream that is UW isn't dying away.  Thank you to those of you who submitted for the past two weeks.  Thank you for the additions as well.  Here's this week's character news!

Ahriman (TheAngraMaiynu):  The master of plagues has struck again.  This time his presence was felt at a downtown orphanage where he managed to wipe out about half of the population with a very nasty disease.  Fortunately some mysterious health inspectors and medical professionals descended on the scene and worked hard on cleaning things up and treating the survivors.

Anna (AriannaRavenwood):  The blue sister stayed out of the public eye again.  There's still no word on whether Arianna will return to her husband's clan lands to rejoin her husband Galen (Galen Ravenwood) and her son Brion or if she will remain in Rhydin a bit longer.

Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren, SMI Ariana):  The green sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and daughter Elaine (Elaine Aqua), still resides at her husband and brother in law's clan lands.  Ariana has pretty much stayed out of the public eye, save to work at her Bakery as usual.

Azazel (Erubescite):  This has been a week for nesting, out of the public eye.  The diva of a deva is wisely allowing her mate to spoil her during this delicate time.  Word has it she is now demanding large chunks of asphalt to snack on and complaining bitterly if there is any yellow or white paint on them.

Brock McElroy (OneShotFrmInfamy):  It's unclear whether this neo-Western drifter is a lawman or bounty hunter.  Witnesses claim that he wears many stars beneath his long coat.  The only thing that's certain is that he is not timid about throwing his weight around or putting a bullet in whoever he happens to be after.

Caife (The Multifarious):  On one of Caife's shifts two weeks ago, Caife and Twelve repelled a Giant attack on the Silver Moon.  Caife was hit by a rock which disabled his freezer unit.  No frappucinos for a while, it seems.  On at least one seperate occasion this week, someone was looking Caife over with an ill-concealed covetousness.  Coiuld golem theft be a profitable enterprise?  One supposes it depends on whether one hoped to profit in mere money...

Calypso
(
Lady Proudfoot):  She has settled in quite nicely.  Someone out there definitely knows how to treat feline royalty.

Carmine (TaciturnMerc):  Carmine has been able to relax somewhat now that his kid is getting proper medical care.  However, this has opened a whole new box of unanswered questions.  It seems that his son is not fully human.  So that is making him wonder who the mother really was.  What Sal's heritage might be.  It would also seem that some stresses of Dris's are taking their toll, for Dris as been quite mopey lately.  Carmine is doing what he can to try and help Dris feel better.

Rumor has it that the mercenary was spotted at the Silver Moon Inn early one morning this past week.  He was a witness himself to an odd concersation between Faye (Faye Random) and Thorm (GuthormOthinsson).  It is said that the Spaniard had some business of asking Faye a question, and as she is wont to do answered in the form of a riddle.  One can only hope that the debt collector can figure out what the meaning of her words entails.

Carolyn Valkonan (DreamsInBurgundy):  Hanging out with her friends is rubbing off on her.  Maybe Sal, Rei, and Mica are bad influences afterall.  This young archmage has been spending more and more time sneaking out of the dormitories to spend wild nights at the local inns and taverns.  Rumor also has it that she is being a bad influence herself!  Teens!

Cassiel (InvertedDarkness):  Teenagers are so strange, especially teenage boys.  He very much doubts that he will ever understand them.  While watching some odd teenage boys and their reckless antics, he met a lady named Xylia and had an interesting conversation with her.  He would not mind seeing her again sometime in the future.

Chasz Harvey (Chasz Harvey):  2-Fly has enjoyed a very successful summer with Blackjack Adventures and is looking forward to getting to work with snowmobiles during the winter.  According to our sources, the newest hire at BJA has convinced Chasz of the benefits of clean, honest living.  Will this high-flying, womanizing hellion settle down and fly right?

Cheriour (HeIIishHunter):  Orrie had an exciting time of things when Rei decided to gather up his mini-posse and storm a castle to rescue a damsel in distress (Gemethyst).  Luckily the situation resolved without any kids getting squished.  Do angels get gray hairs?  We'll see.

Cotton Phillips (Cotton Phillips):  The young farmboy has been attempting to rally people to his cause.  His family was slaughtered by orcs recently.  The Phillips family was one of many who refused to be displaced and they paid the ultimate price for not fleeing.  After facing countless storms, the Phillips family decided it wasn't worth the effort of fleeing.  How wrong they were.  Young Cotton is eager, it would be unfortunate if he were to meet with any of the refugee farmers strewn about Rhydin in camps.

Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter):  The scarred law woman in black is working on wrapping up certain investigations (see Headlines).  She's frustrated in her efforts because to date no one has yet to come forward with any information.  Rachael continues to investigate a long-standing case which involves child and adult prostitution, child endangerment, child abuse, drugs and other illicit activities, as well as the disturbing information from Carvenhorn (Horned Hunter) about a gang of Giants operating to the north of Rhydin.  She received information about a recent series of ritualistic murders from an anonymous informant and is currently investigating this lead.

Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan):   She's tending to her patients as usual, including one of the tenders at the Silver Moon Inn.  The good Doctor continues to spend time volunteering her medical services at a local free clinic.  Maranya is very pleased with the landscaping on her ranch and looks forward to the improvements for the upcoming holidays.  Along with some visits to the Rambling Rose Tavern to try to relax, she encountered a new patient, Edge (The Edge of 18).  So far, the good Doctor is making slow progress with Salvador's (Peculiar Silence) therapy, including supervising the manufacture of special polychromatic glasses for him.  But, the strain of keeping up with her busy schedule overall is beginning to take its toll.

Dris (BardGaIIant, SMI Dris):  The bard has been keeping himself very busy playing at depression over the past couple of weeks.  After trying to send a letter to Valleana (Va11eana) he has not felt up to doing much of anything.  Rumor has it he sent in a letter of semi-resignation to the Silver Moon Inn.  It isn't that he wants to quit entirely, but he feels that he does not have the time to resume his previous duties before he went on a business trip several months ago.  Strangely enough, children seem to be the most prominent thing on his mind.  Such as seeing his own!  Hopefully he can convince the Mistress of the Temple to allow him to pay a comfortable visit.  And hopefully he doesn't drive Carmine too batty with his moods.

Echo (ohcEtnarticlaceR / BigBlueScourge):  The ink and paint mirror man has been seen romping about Rhydin causing many headaches and fits of rage.  His first appearance featured him as an overgrown smurf.  There are many things wrong with him on so many levels.  Those who are laidback and able to take a joke find his effect on the tighter-wound patrons quite amusing.  Watch out!  You could be his next victim.

Ehzoterik VonArcanum Tempestas
(
Ehzoterik)There have been no reported Ehz sightings over the past couple of weeks.  Either she's been hiding herself away again, or people have just forgotten that she's dropped by for a visit here and there.  That's a common affliction after dealing with one so mysteriously insane.

Elaine (Elaine Aqua):  Elaine is hitting the books once again as school's started for her at Northedge Academy.   No exploring jaunts for the ten year old this week.  Elaine really misses her brother Banshee (Banshee Aqua) and really truly doesn't believe he's truly gone.

Emmy (Empress Grayfur):  In the wee hours of the early morning on October 3 of this year, the Empress Emerald of Grayfur was overjoyed by the arrival of five healthy baby kittens.  All the yarn she has collected over the past month or so has made for an ideal nest in a basket she nudged into a corner of a closet at the MacGyldren homestead.  Now if she could just have some privacy to take care of her kittens!  Two healthy baby girls and three healthy baby boys!  They look a lot like siamese...

Faye: She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random):  In the past two weeks, the linewalker has only made one appearance.  She spent the evening lounging at the Silver Moon Inn on Sunday, comfortably observing the people as they went about her business.  She was joyful to see the wandering Thorm (GuthormOthinsson), one she has not had the pleasure of speaking with in a very long time.  After their discussion, she has been considering paying a visit to forgotten places again.  Will she?  Only time will tell.  She also had the opportunity to listen to a conversation between Carmine (Taciturn Merc) and Lyssa (Lyssa Bjornson).  Afterwards she was asked by the mercenary how to remove the ring that she had given to Dris (BardGaIIant) to help control his empathy.  The linewalker answered in a riddle, and has faith that the pair of them will figure out the answer on their own.

Guthorm (Guthorm Othinsson):  Spotted at the Silver Moon Inn!  Rumor has it he was cheerful but distracted, as seems to be the case more often than not.  Someone should build a trap for that man to keep him around longer.  Rhy'Din doesn't see enough of him!

Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden):  In this week's installment, the news of note for this native Rhydin resident is she's still slowly recovering from the flu this week and she's being sued for damages by the person who's been behind the plot to keep her from drawing her comic book.  The flu kept her from going out two weeks ago, but not last week.  Stay tuned.

Jack Bishop (Jackrabbit Blue):  Halloween can't get here fast enough for the Valkonan Ranch gardener.  Over the course of the past couple of weeks he has transformed the trails behind the ranch into a Spook Spectacular!  He has been spending the rest of his time traveling around town posting up advertisements on the walls of frequently visited establishments.  And the rest of his time after that scolding the good doctor for working herself too hard.  He intends on having her spend time on the haunted trails to help relieve some tension.

Jim Smith (TheSpiritRemains):  His good mood did not last long.  Something or someone has peed upon his cornflakes in a hard and harsh manner, and he is grumpy now.  Despite that he still managed to befriend and then sponsor a teenage fighter, and is thinking of looking into 12-step programs for suckers.

Snags notwithstanding, he is not making a hermit of himself after last week's aggravations. Rumor has it now that an entity nicknamed Mr. Angry is gunning for him.  The smart thing would be to hide.  Naturally he is stubbornly going about his business.

Joker (SMI Joker, Richard D Harker):  The flirtatious bartender for the Silver Moon Inn didn't work his normal shift two weeks ago.  He took Rhi (Rhiannon D Brock) on another private getaway weekend that weekend, so he asked the Jadeskinned dollface for another favor.  Joker is still worried about his younger brother Nige (Peter N Harker).  The elder Harker brother is currently undergoing anger management counseling along with his usual medical treatments from the Valkyrie (Maranya Valkonan).

Kakabel (Celestial Sorrow):  No rest for the once wicked.  The Prince of Stars has found himself more busy than usual over the course of the past couple of weeks.  After saving his love from the evil clutches of the arch-nemesis Lionel (with the help of a good number of comrades in arms, including his son), he has been spending more time devising ways of keeping his family safe.  With the help of the deity Melarrna (Indigo Lightning), Captain Meriam Hariss (HeavyMetalMer), and various other friends and family some of these dreams have been accomplished.  Now if only he could convince Gem to not wander around so much and walk into trouble!  That task is akin to making a cat take a bath.  Oi.

Kreh Feverclaw (Kreh Feverclaw) The strange messenger who brought an ominous message to Ariana has been seen around town.  Rumor has it that he is seeking a warrior of the North.

Lyssa
(
Lyssa Bjornson):  Ariana's shy dollmaking daughter has continued to discover some surprising news about an addition to her Duties during her visits to the Silver Moon Inn and the Rambling Rose Tavern.  She also continues to make dolls based on dreams she's been having for a still undetermined reason.

Melly (Melanie Wyndham):  The shy relief baker at Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery finally tended bar at the Silver Moon Inn two weekends ago as a favor to her Boss.  Will she tend there again?  The world may never know.

Mer Harriss (Heavy Metal Mer):  Captain Harriss has been a valuable asset to the celestial family.  Rumor has it she helped spring Gem from a veritable prison, a deed in which Kakabel is very grateful.  Despite his attitude otherwise.  She also helped with the creation of the pocket dimension in which the family now resides.  Chances are she deserves a medal or a promotion for all of her hard work.  Will she get either one?  Only time will tell.

Micarryl (Still More Drow):  L' ilhar d' Rei aslu iltan atsus a natha vreg'nth klez wun biu verin qu'ellar xuil errdegahr auflaqui.  Nindel zhah ji Rhydin. Reztorm xuil Mer lu' l' ilharn d' Rei lu' fol jaluk s'lat'halin, uk alus reztorm xuil Rei lu' Sal lu' l' ilninuk d' Rei ulu dormagyn ilta dal l' qu'ellar.  Klezn aslu ichl ssussun ulu kyorl lu' t'yin l' qu'ellar luth ilta doeb lu' nind alus tarthe.  Ol zhahus bran lu' xusst, drill nau uss tois.  Eesh.

Mithril/Gadreel/Lusus (ASaintOfSinners):  Mithril for the most part has dropped out of the public eye this week and the week before.  It has been said that means he is either up to something, or is on vacation.  He did pay a quick visit to the Rambling Rose earlier this week long enough to be asked what he will wear for Halloween.  He reported in a dry tone that he shall go as the devil.

Mozart (Amadaeus Felidae):  He was all set to mess with some sheet music and mark them for his very, very own when Dris had to go and get himself all depressed over some letter.  Silly human man.  Knowing that teasing him would not be appreciated right now, he is once more biding his time.  Annoying human.

Orion Ksyhsravor (Orion Ksyhsravor):  From what little has been seen of the Jedi, rumor has it that he helped in the rescue of Gem from the evil clutches of Lionel.

Parhi Grimjaws (The Multifarious):  Has been around and about, but her work remains her own for the time being.

Pleione (Stellar Balinese):  She has ended her feud with the drow that has invaded the celestial home.  Rumor has it she has even made peace with the little twitchy elf.  She just keeps adding onto the bonds she is making with mortals.  Everyone except for Kakabel.  Will she ever bond with her man?

Rei (AmethystStarfall):  The very stars above warned Rei that his mother was in trouble, and he felt the urge to try and save her.  At least he was not so foolish to go and try by himself.  He brought Mica, Sal, Orrie, Mer, and Orion with him.  His father also got word and worked on the rescue.  He did not do much actual saving when he got to the scene, but he was at least able to help with the rescue effort and work on the aftermath.

Rei also learned that his mother has been infected somehow by a very bad man.  Paranoid that this means that she is being tagged, he has taken matters into his own hands and is working on moving everyone, hiding things again and hiding his mother.  He told Mer about this and she has agreed to help.  Now he is going to hunt down an actual deity he knows and ask for his help as well.  While exploring the house with Mica he stumbled across this woman that his mother had hidden in the house who appears to be some kind of runaway slave.  He has since moved her to another area of the house and is willing to keep her safe.  Rei is beginning to wonder if the reason his father is so grouchy all the time is just due to plain stress.

Salvador (Peculiar Silence):  Life just keeps getting better and better...  Not!  Seeing how troubled his freind Rei was over the fact that his mother had been kidnapped, the strange boy volunteered to help him rescue her.  Not that he was much help, but he could not stand to see Rei go somewhere dangerous on his own.  He mostly listened when the family made plans on how to fight this evil, but deep inside he was trying to figure out how to do away with it for good.  The house reminded him of a demon sanctuary, a devil-worshipping temple, and he did not like it.

Good news is he has not been as pronse to violence over the past couple of weeks as he might usually be.  He has been spending a lot of time hanging out with Carolyn (DreamsInBurgundy) and enjoying that time a great deal.  Despite what Rei and Mica might think, they are not dating!  A rather appalling assumption in his opinion.  Not that he doesn't like Carolyn, just not in that way.  Why does everyone assume he even wants to date?  People are strange when you're a stranger, that's for sure.  But Carolyn doesn't seem to think he's too strange.  Even after thay traded eyesight one evening.  He never knew the world looked like!

The only problems he is dealing with right now are the fact that his father is none too pleased that he went and got himself pierced.  A new stud in his left ear and a bar through his left eyebrow, compliments of Carolyn and her mother.  The glasses that Dr. Valkonan said she would make for him have been completed and given to him.  This is something that is going to take some severe getting used to.  After seeing nothing but color for so long with his eyes open, seeing no color at all is strange.  Even stranger with his eyes closed and seeing nothing at all.

Skiptrace Tau (Dau Oxender):  This futuristic bounty hunter has been witnessed inquiring about one Terrell "Tricky" Streets.  Though the missing persons case of Mr. Streets is still open, it is widely speculated that he will not be found alive.  All the same, Tau seems determined to find out anything about the missing young man.  Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Tricky is urged to contact the nearest law enforcement agency.  Compensation of valid information is offered.

Terrance Tomar-Duncan (Terrance Tomar):  Aside from a visit to the Rose where some rude woman dropped out of the ceiling onto his table and startled him, Terry has stayed home after work the week before last.  Since then, Terry has been busy with work, keeping house, and showing his new friend Jaehron what fun times are to be had in taverns.  Why, you can get into arguments with complete strangers without even trying hard.  What joy.

The Edge/Chad (The Edge of 18):  Young Edge seems to have gotten himself into a whole heap of trouble.  Enticed by the lure of "easy money", he took an open slot at one of the many fighting pits which litter the seedy end of Rhydin.  If not for Toho and Parhi, Edge might have been killed.  Edge was seen leaving the Silver Moon Inn with Tanna.  It is unknown whether Edge will return to the pit or not.  Only time will tell.

The Rev (Rev DiabIo):  Rev has made a few public appearances.  Mostly, he has been serenading Cadence on Fridays while Collie tends bar at the Red Dragon.  As for what he has been doing with the rest of his time, no one knows.

Twelve (The Multifarious):  The Silver Moon's half-trollish bouncer helped Caife protect the premises from destruction by a few giants.  Although pounded quite badly, he recovered as one might expect.  And it appears that he made a small dent in the local Giantish population.

Ynik (The Multifarious):  He apparently remains imprisoned by the Giant Gang.  Alive, if the rather large humber of escapees from their hideout if any indication.  There are signs that Master Ynik is providing telepathic information to the police about the Giants' activities, but law enforcement officials are remaining understandably quiet on the subject.

Yoshi (KitsuneNineTails):  Doo Dee Dooo! We are sorry but the kitsune you are trying to reach has been disconnected from this reality or is no longer in service.  If you feel this message to be in error, please check your scrying device and try your contact again.

Zohak (ABafflingEnigma):  Zohak thinks that there is nothing more boring than watching the news.  Why do adults bother to do it?  He is currently hard at work making something out of a lot of toilet paper and he will not tell anyone what it is.

Victims Wanted : Roleplayers seeking "throwaway characters" for recently developing storyline.  If you have a currently existing character that you're just plain sick of, or are interested in creating a "victim" please contact Inkwire Associates for more information.  The players behind the characters have asked to remain confidential in their interviewing process, but are encouraging everyone to join in on the "gory fun!"  Keep an eye on the weekly Headlines concerning murder victims to get a feel for what is expected.  The more the victims are actually in the public eye before their eradication, the more believable the players feel this storyline will be!

Announcements

There are quite a few announcements for me to catch up on.  Combining two weeks worth of news is never easy, but I do as I must.  After checking over Mutual Endeavors and the updates I received, I have compiled for you all quite a list.  Nothing too spectacular, but more than usual.  So here are this week's and last week's character and player celebrations!

Friday, October 1stAs I mentioned in my delay blotter, last Friday was my very own husband's birthday.  My thanks go out to all of you who sent me well-wishes for him.  Happy belated birthday, Mr. M!  UW subscriber and loving husband!  I'm sure it was a day to remember, since I was there!

Wednesday, October 6th:  This upcoming Wednseday is Mutual Endeavors memeber and Ubique's Weekly subscriber DarkAngelGensis's birthday.  So just in case I miss out on saying so any time soon, happy birthday to you, Gen-Gen!  Those of you who also know this individual, do not hesitate to send out a shout for joyous birthday occassions.  May this year be a year worth celebrating, and may you have many more to follow!

Wednesday, October 6th: 11th birthday for Elaine (Elaine Aqua), daughter of Ariana and Galen (ArianaMacGyldren, Galen MacGyldren).

Wednesday, October 6th: 26th birthday for Ethan, son of Ariana and Galen (ArianaMacGyldren, Galen MacGyldren).

Final Thoughts

Admittedly, I am not surprised by the length of this week's issue.  After missing out on a week, I had a lot to make up for.  I am, however, extremely overjoyed by the amount of news I received.  Still, I was hoping for more for this past week.  Most of what I received was last week's news.  Regardless, last week I received much more than I ever expected.  Especially news from some who I thought had dropped off the face of the earth!  Oi!  You people need to stay on the ball and send me updates more often you hear?

Updates:  Always remember that any future Ubique's Weekly submissions are always due the Monday before every expected delivery date.  UW is issued every Tuesday morning (maybe even earlier), depending on how long it takes me to put everything together and sent off to the printers.  Comments, questions, updates, additions, announcements, advertisements, etceteras are always welcome for every issue.  While some may make it to the front page, there is no guarantee that all submissions will be printed.  However, your thoughts are always encouraged to be shared.  Just remember to send all of these aforementioned things to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it no later than Sunday at midnight EST.

Hopefully this week I eradicated the printing gliches that overwhelmed the previous issue.  No guarantees, but I think I ironed out the kinks rather well.  In preparation for next week's issue, allow me to take a moment to send out some words of encouragement.  Despite the way things may be, I hold no grudges.  As the editor of UW and a fellow-ro
