Ubique's Weekly A Mutual Endeavors Publication Issue #1 ~ 17 August 2003 Blurb Greetings and salutations, everybody! This 17th of August 2003 marks itself as the official day that Mutual Endeavors brings to you its first ever weekly newsletter. After several minutes of brainstorming with a fellow ME member (and this writer's second muse), a decision was made to name our publication with the title above. As this is only the first issue, we cannot say whether or not "Ubique's Weekly" will continue to be this publication's official name. Future thoughts, comments, and ideas may play a big part in influencing an ultimate decision in the end. For now, this is how it will be. In a previous e-mail sent out to the general populace (aka: ME members), I made mention of an upcoming newsletter project. And folks, this is it! So please, do please take the time to read over all the fine details. Send me your thoughts, your suggestions, your comments and questions. I'm not just doing this for my own personal pleasure, mind you. The idea came to me with the realization that since we all have lives to live, we don't always have the time to be together online. And since we all have characters that interact with each other, I thought it would beneficial if we all knew what was going on with whom. When, where, how, and why. "Ubique's Weekly" will hopefully in the future provide all these forgotten details for everyone to work off of in future storylines and role-play experiences. So, without further ado, I would like to present to one and all a general idea and overview of what to expect. Therefore, I give you...
This Just In This section of every future newsletter will provide readers with synopses and overviews of what is going on with certain involved characters as well as partially indepth story-line updates. As a general example, I have a list of characters of my own to work off of. In the future, I hope to receive lots and lots of e-mail from the rest of you. E-mail that will tell me what you would like to see written about your characters that you think the rest of your role-playing friends and comrades should know. Character names in color. Screen names those characters are played on in parentheses. Here we go. Ehzoterik VonArcanum Tempestas (Ehzoterik): Little and next to nothing is ever known about what Ehz does in her spare absence time. What we can say about her other than more than likely she has been spending all of her time in Limbo watching over the entire multiverse through her many, many looking glass windows. Though there may be a few things that people don't know. A month or so ago, Ehz became possessed by Lucifer himself. A longer time before that even, Ariana MacGyldren formed a mindlink with the uncontrollable psychic unwittingly. During an inner struggle, the link was severed and Ehz's soul was stolen from her body. Thanks to Mithril, Tomas, and Jade, the child soul was returned to Ehz. However, the mindlink between Ariana and Ehz has since been nonexistant. Since that time, Ehz has made herself quite scarce in Rhydin after helping Tomas by offering him a bath and a place to sleep. Perhaps her absence is ... for the best. Sheridan Driscol (BardGaIIant, SMI Dris): Over the past couple of months, Dris has acquired quite an extensive amount of business to occupy his time with. A few weeks ago a woman commissioned him to craft a wooden replica of a moose, full with music box inner workings. That elaborate piece of artwork has since been completed, but in the meantime he has been spending his time working on other projects. One that will be known to the general populace all in due time. When he hasn't been keeping himself busy working ten hour days at home in the workshop, he has spent the rest of his time at the Silver Moon Inn as a bartender. Mostly he pins on the nametag as a favor for his adoptive mother Ariana MacGyldren. On other occassions, he does it merely as "something to do." In most recent news, Sunday morning his partner (Carmine) tracked down a band of vandals and thieves who had accosted the SMI. In completing his duty as Inn bouncer and bartender, he was rewarded by a baron with an Arabian racing horse. This he gave to Dris. A gift that has made the bard quite the excitedly happy fellow. She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random): Ever since the fall of the Red Dragon Inn, there have been fewer and fewer sightings of the neutral autumn fae known as Random. She Who Walks the Line has been kept rather busy tending to her latest charge. The split demon Child known as Mithril she has quite literally taken under her wing. As Watcher, she has been appointed the task of teacher and jailer to the youth. An occupation that has kept her quite busy for the past couple of months. It's not easy watching over a rambunctious and uncooperative Child. In other news, this August 27th marks the next new moon in which the silver fae will undertake yet another ritual with her chosen mate Carmine (Taciturn Merc) to complete the creation of a child for the mercenary. The expected birthdate of the half-human/half-fae youngling is mid February. The first day of Winter Carmine will be free of his oathbonds to the fae and the chrysalis will take care of the rest. Predictions foretell that both the fae and the mercenary will be rather weak for at least seven days at the end of the month. Keep your eyes peeled. Kymeera: The Nightmare Keeper (The Dream Warden): This particular Unseelie has not been seen for a couple of weeks now. Recent sightings brought about quite the episode in the Silver Moon Inn last month when Mithril and a handful of others took it into mind to draw unnecessary attention to themselves by repeatedly stating the Keeper's name. As should have been expected, Kymeera made his appearance. It was an episode that granted Mesteno (Bronze Mesteno) with a serious injury inflicted upon his leg by his own dagger. Sightings have shown that the castrato has since been limping about due to the damage caused. In that same afternoon, Mithril made a pact with the Nightmare Keeper and the High Fairy Courts that would ensure safety in the Dreaming for a handful of people that the Child names as friend. Among these chosen few are Ariana MacGyldren, Jade, Gemethyst, Carmine, Dris, Mesteno, and whomever else Mithril since then has decided is worth the care to protect from the assaults of the Keeper's ward: Lusus, the Monster. Welkin: The Watcher of the Border (PolutedFirmament, TheFaeKeeper): In recent news, the Demon Keeper has been released from the Demon Taint by a rather kind-hearted elven woman known as Gem (Gemethyst). The tainted fae tracked down Mithril's scent one afternoon to the Red Dragon Inn, only to arrive disappointed that the Child had left only moments before. Though to his delight, Gadreel's slave found Gem and a handful of others Mithril has named friend still within the premises. Welkin's mistake and genius was to insult and threaten Gem to the point of her using her Spell-Weaving skills against him. An unexpected result being that the Gravity Well she used ended up pulling the Demon Taint entirely out of his essence and freeing him from the Darkness. What's more, she also gifted the Watcher with one of Cassiel's feathers to use as a talisman to protect him from the inevitable future possibility of further succumbing to the Darkness. The Watcher of the Border is free and pure once again ... for now. ClassifiedsIf you have anything you would like to advertise here, let me know. I'm still a little sketching on what should go here, but I thought a Classifieds section would be cool. I dunno... The EndFinal thoughts? Perhaps this newsletter ended up being a bit more lengthy than initially intended. Like I said, your thoughts and opinions are highly valued. Help me to help you by keeping me informed, and in the end I'll eternally be... Keeping you informed, --Infamous SJ Mutual Endeavors Founder Write Ubique's Editor |
