Ubique's Weekly A Mutual Endeavors Publication Issue #19 ~ 22 December 2003 The Blurb Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings to one and all! This week Ubique's has splashed on some color to help celebrate in its very own way. Every now and then we like to spice things up for you, and what better way to do it this week than to implant a constant reminder of 'Tis the Season! We're moving in on the end of another month and closing in on the end of another year. It won't be long now before we've opened presents, shared in the spirit of giving, enjoyed the company of loved ones, and made thousands of New Years' resolutions. My creative juices are overflowing now that I've had some time to relax and ponder. Certainly you've all noticed that once again this issue has come to you all late. My only explanation is due to recovery from a nasty little bug bite. Possibly the flu. But let's not dwell on that. This is a time of giving and sharing! So let's move on and get things rolling. I'm sure you're all eager to see what's in store for your reading pleasure this week.
This Just In Once again I regretfully inform you that there is very little to share in the department of our Headlines this week. However, my eyes and ears have been scouting about and have returned with a few tales to tell. So let's not linger too long on the extravagant prose to keep everyone in anticlimactic suspense. Here are this week's ... Headlines On The Crime Beat: Earlier this past week, a body was discovered in the kitchen of the Silver Moon Inn. Details at this time are sketchy, but what is known is that the body in question belonged to a previous employee of the SMI. Rumors of a barrel of phermaldahyde and body parts abound. For fact we can say that the woman known as Halavar (SMI Halavar) was murdered. Her body was left, as previously stated, in the kitchen of the Silver Moon Inn. At this time authorities are uncertain who the killer may be, but there are suspected rumors that the criminal in question may very well be the Sherryman (also known as Jack the Ripper). The Ripperman has been gone from the realm for some time, and earlier reports of his return around Halloween still linger heavily in the air. Officials claim that the mode of operation is not the same as is common for the Ripper, but that has not stopped the locals from presuming the perpetrator to be him. Residents are advised not to walk the streets alone at night and to keep their wits about them during the holidays. . In Other News... Individual Character Updates are rather scarce again this week. Thank you to those of you who remembered to send me your news. All I can really say is that I hope once the holidays are over that everyone will be a little more active and generous in making news. . Anna (AriannaRavenwood): No change here. The blue sister continues to tend to her husband Galen (Galen Ravenwood) and son Brion's needs, along with spending her free time baking for the bakery instead of tending at the Silver Moon Inn. Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren): Again, not much change here. The green sister has been tending to family business and the bakery most of the week. Ariana is still involved with catering the upcoming Rhydin Family Charities fundraiser and continues to worry about her daughter Elaine's nightmares and cold. Banshee Aqua (Banshee Aqua): No news this week. Calypso (Lady Proudfoot): Thinks that Fancy Feast is not good enough and wishes for liver pate. Carmine (TaciturnMerc): Finally found the perfect Yule gift. His birthday was a nice quiet one just like he wanted. Later on he plans to indulge Dris and let him throw him a small party if he has that desire. Cassiel (InvertedDarkness): Went to Hell with Mesteno, Gem, Mithril and Tracy. He is still having some troubles, but is better now on keeping those to himself. Chaus (Wake up caIl): After a rather disturbing message delivery from The Raven (Sophistic Siva), it looks like trouble has found Chaus yet again. A still-to-be-identified man (Scandled company) has taken Chaus hostage. According to the Raven's message, he seems to be using Chaus as a lab specimen, though no one has any idea why, or if the Raven's message is actually true. There are fishy and unreliable circumstances all over the place with this one. Chaus' close friend, Sinjin Fai, is still working out how to deal with the situation and get Chaus back before something irreversible happens. D (Duncan H Harper): No news this week. For some time now he's been MIA. Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter): The scarred law woman in black continues to investigate various crime sprees and has completely abandoned the investigation about the "lighthouse finger murders." Rachael still works with Doctor Nigel Newborn (Nigel Newborn) in the official investigation into the recent incidents of various body organs being left at the Silver Moon Inn. The deputy witnessed the latest victim to the serial killer, Halavar (SMI Halavar) at the SMI this past week. Dris (BardGaIIant): The bard has kept to himself most of this past week. Mostly due to the fact that he has been helping Carmine (Taciturn Merc) celebrate his big birthday. Dris has been concocting plans on springing a suprise party on the Spaniard, but has as of yet to come up with anything solid. Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan): As usual, the good Doctor has been tending to her patients, including Sydney and Don Harada (SmileFang and DonatelIo Harada) and Elaine (Elaine Aqua) as well as continuing her work with Mrs. VanHasselt. She's added two patients to her rounds with the flu/cold epidemic, Seamus (Seamus Wylie) and Joey (Joey M Masters). Maranya's duties have been keeping her busy and as a result she rarely appears in public. The good Doctor still remains noticeably closed mouthed about what happened on her recent trip out of town. Ehzoterik VonArcanum Tempestas (Ehzoterik): No news this week. Has Limbo finally swallowed her up for good? Elaine (Elaine Aqua): The only change here is that, besides the most adorable little girl in the entire Multiverse suffering from very bad dreams, she also has contracted a very bad cold. However, her cold didn't keep her from visiting the Silver Moon Inn with her Ma (ArianaMacGyldren) this past week to see the pretty lights or engage in a snowball fight with Rachael (RachaeI MacLeod). Emmy (EmpressGrayfur): Has been worrying and fretting over poor Elaine's health both physically and mentally. She has been doing all a feline can do to make her companion comfortable. Erasimus Greene (PersistanceTime): Was briefly seen speaking with a bright red parrot in the marketplace about where to buy a box of copper plated tin tacks. Faye: She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random): Faye spent one more night supervising the Silver Moon Inn this previous week. Sunday morning at sunrise (December 21, 2003) her presence completely evaporated from the realm. As predicted, she has taken to hibernation and has taken great care to make herself impossible to locate. On the first of Spring, three months from now, she should return to Rhydin completely refreshed. Fox Pepper (Rings Twice): No news this week. Fury (ReversedHaIo): No news this week. Gem (Gemethyst): No news this week. Jack Bishop (Jackrabbit Blue): No news this week. Jade (Irreverent Jade): No news this week. Johan (Johan the Hunter): The Mysterious Management managed to get out some the other night. He emerged from the sanctity of his secret hiding places to do a little bounty hunting. He came out successful enough in this endeavor to encourage himself to buy a round of drinks for the entire patronage of the SMI. He spent some time with his friend and heart-sister, Zelphina, who he's been watching over since her return. Very rare to see The Boss out and about! Kakabel (FrameworkMemento): Has returned to the realms after a very long and mysterious absence. While this might be a very joyous occassion for many considering the holidays, for the fallen prince this has been a rather confusing and tumultuous time. It seems he cannot remember who he is or whom anyone around him is either. Even those who know and remember him. Especially the mother of his soon-to-be son (Gemethyst). Hopefully the amnesia will go away on its own. Kevin (Kevin N Summers): No news this week. Kymeera: The Nightmare Keeper (The Dream Warden): The spirit of Nightmare made his first appearance in quite some time earlier this week by paying a visit to the Silver Moon Inn. It was not as exciting an adventure as he might have hoped, but he did get his kicks by terrorizing a couple of locals. One in particular being the tender known as Joker (SMI Joker). We can only hope that he decides to hibernate himself this Winter, if he's anything like Faye. Mallora (Ma11ora): No news this week. Matriel (Rarefied Rain): No news this week. Melly (Melanie Wyndham): It's rumored that the shy relief baker and counter help at Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery has applied to the mysterious Management for a job at the Silver Moon Inn yet. No word yet on whether or not she's actually been hired. Mesteno (Bronze Mesteno): Rumor has it he went to Hell with a group of people in an effort to kill off a demon. Been a lot of that going around lately. There are also rumors of him getting into a lot of other trouble, but nothing we can confirm at this time. Mestrangelo (MestrangeIo): Lately there have been rumors and sightings of the mysterious purveyor being seen in counsel with a rather dark figure. Their discussions have been carried out in a language that nary a one overhearing could translate or understand. Overall empathic wavelengths have picked up on tension between the two. Perhaps Mestrangelo is into some sort of trouble. Only time will tell us for certain. Mithril/Gadreel/Lusus (ASaintOfSinners): Went to Hell and fought Lucifer. He was nearly destroyed, but he managed to escape. The others made it out with his heart that was caught in a frozen crystal. His heart seems to be a flawless ruby about the size of a basketball with a burning flame inside it. Mozart (Amadaeus Felidae): Ran away from home after he went a little too far with some sheet music. He will be back. Ophelia (EspressoBlues): No news this week. Parhi Grimjaws (The Multifarious): No news this week. Pleione (Stellar Balinese): Has gone missing for a couple of weeks now. The Limbo cat left Gem's home far behind to go on a hunt. Seems celestial powers that be drew her out on a journey to find her former master. Much to the world's surprise, she returned earlier this week with a rather confused and amnesiatic Kakabel in tow. Now the feline has been spending all of her time at her man's side and just waiting for him to get better. Rei (AmethystStarfall): Is refreshingly still alive. So where is the wasabi? Rekah (Rekah Dravina): No news this week. Revari: The Daydream Weaver (KaleidoscopeWhim): No news this week. Robin (Robin Kalahola): Is still missing. Rose (Electrum Rose): No news this week. Seamus Wylie (Seamus Wylie): No news this week. Suphlatus (AInfernalElement): He is no more. He was killed on his home plane by Gem, Mesteno, and Terry. Suriel (Thirteenthchange): No news this week.
