Ubique's Weekly A Mutual Endeavors Publication Issue #29 ~ 8 March 2004 The Blurb Greetings and salutations, readers! This week's issue of UW isn't going to be too thrilling I'm afraid. With the increasing lack of participation in updates over the past few weeks, our information is steadilly decreasing. Collaborative efforts have hit a major funk and fewer people are playing these days. I'd like to think that everyone could put aside their differences and just continue to attempt to keep the dream alive, but unfortunately that has not been so. Perhaps in the days to come that will change. Let us all hope that change is indeed in the air and in the future things will be as they once were. Until then, let's get on with this newsletter, shall we?
Storyline Spotlight Once again we regret to inform you that there is no Storyline Spotlight. In the past we have detailed quite a number of locations throughout the greater Rhydin area, and in the future we look forward to informing our readers of more. There is news of work being done on a description of the Temple of Love and Ecstasy. We cannot say when we will have this information for the Mistress is very busy dealing with personal matters, but we do look forward to the description. We have also heard that there is consideration being done on a description for the Kaotic Koffee Howce. The situation is similar there. The mastermind is very busy with personal issues in life, but has stated that in the future there will be a description. We look forward to that as well. Still no word on any efforts for a description concerning the Holotheatre Project. But that is to be expected. My hope is that in the near future at least one of these three places will have a write up to be placed in these pages. In fact I eagerly await that day, as I'm sure you all look forward to it as well. This Just In Our Headlines What's just in? Not a whole lot. I'm sad to say that we have only one Headline to share with you this week. I told you this wasn't going to be an exciting newsletter. Anna (AriannaRavenwood): The blue sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen Ravenwood) and son Brion, is content to remain at present at her husband's clan lands with her twin sister and her immediate family. Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren): The green sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and daughter Elaine (Elaine Aqua), still resides at her husband and brother in law's clan lands. She continues to worry about her one heartson Neko (Jibudoka Neko) after another letter she received from him speaking of fighting the orcs. Ariana made two brief appearances at the Silver Moon Inn this week, one where she found out about Rose and Seamus' impending parenthood and the other cooking for the SMI this past Saturday night, which involved cooking implement and food tossing at Joker (SMI Joker) once again in the kitchen during his shift. Other than this, working at the bakery and refusing to deliver pastries for a certain tender's shift, the green sister still is in private mourning and is planning to avenge her son's murder. Arienh Crowther-Driscol (Arienh Driscol): No news this week. Auggy (TSgtBenson): No news this week. Calypso (Lady Proudfoot): She has been lounging about being a spoiled and lazy cat. Captain Merriam "Heavy Metal" Harris, USAF (Retired) (Heavy Metal Mer): No news this week. Carolyn Ariana Valkonan (DreamsinBurgundy):No news this week. Carmine (TaciturnMerc): Planning for the trip ahead, and has bought some supplies. He also took Dris out on a much needed date a few days back. He was spotted at the Silver Moon Inn this weekend for just such an occassion. Rumor has it he and Dris have left on the first boat of the morning to depart for their vacation. Cassiel (InvertedDarkness): No news this week. Chase LeMonde (Chase LeMonde): No news this week. Chaus (Wake up caIl): No news this week. Colleen MacLeod (PrlUnicorn): No news this week. Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter): The scarred law woman in black still investigates various crime sprees, including a recent series of muggings in the slum areas. Rachael made a recent public appearance at the Silver Moon Inn and took Jack Bishop (Jackrabbit Blue) in for questioning of the murder of one Larry "Grabber" Nelson after the Deputy Marshall discovered an incriminating scarf on Bishop's person. Both Bishop and another suspect in the case, Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden), have been cleared so far of any charges in the case. Diana Lasher (Fragile Fury): No news this week. Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan): She's tending to her patients as usual. The good Doctor took another brief break from her usual duties and made a public appearance at the Silver Moon Inn. Maranya has also been spending some time volunteering her medical services at a local free clinic. In addition, she presided at the delivery of Marren Ariana Hatchar, who made her presence known at 3:43 pm on March 2nd. Healthy, a solid weight of six pounds, two ounces, both Marren and her mother, Sabrielle (Sabrielle Marrick) are doing fine. Drake Valkonan (Drake Valkonan): No news this week. Dris (BardGaIIant): He called off two nights working at the Silver Moon Inn this past week. Though he did show for the Friday night two hours. Where he was rather surprised to see Carmine make an appearance. He learned of the birth of Bri's (Sabrielle Marrick) baby girl. Where he has been over the weekend is uncertain, but rumors do conclude to be fact. He and Carmine left this morning on the first boat set to sail for the Spaniard's homelands. He left a request for a substitute tender for the next two and a half weeks at the Silver Moon. Dr. Newborn (Nigel Newborn): No news this week. Ehzoterik VonArcanum Tempestas (Ehzoterik): Ehz dropped by the Silver Moon Inn earlier this week. It was just a brief visit in which she talked to Irina about playing Cops and Robbers. Irina insisted that it was no game and Ehz could be killed playing with guns. A situation Ehz found to be quite boring. She went back home to watch "movies" shortly after a conversation about some special crystals that some lizard guy named Ynik is looking for. Elaine (Elaine Aqua): Elaine continues to make batches of cinnamon rolls for the person who got her bad dreams to stop. She also, with the help of her Ma, made cinnamon rolls, cherry turnovers and cherry cinnamon cookies for Dris (BardGaIIant) and Carmine (TaciturnMerc), along with bags of sugar cookies for people at the Silver Moon Inn, which the busy ten year old delivered on Valentine's Day. She misses her brother Banshee (Banshee Aqua) and doesn't believe he's truly gone. Emmy (Empress Grayfur): Flour bags do not make for good places to take cat naps. Erasimus Greene (PersistanceTime): No news this week. Faye: She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random): Still hibernating. Fury (ReversedHaIo): No news this week. Gem (Gemethyst, SMI Gem): No news this week. Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden): In this week's installment, Irina's still working at her new job, no Metroid attacks!, made a few new friends, got mugged, turned herself into the cops, moved out of her cool place and over to the Moon, got a pretty bracelet from Auggy, didn't catch the viruses out there yet!, hits the local inns most every night and yet she still finds time to work on the next issue of Bright Suns. All in all, a pretty typical week for this native Rhydin resident. Stay tuned. J (Duncan J Harper): Still no news. Jack Bishop (Jackrabbit Blue): Fun and excitement in Rhydin. Jack was dragged in for questioning concerning a murder investigation that Irina was a primary suspect for. Trying to protect his friends is no easy task, but he thinks he did a fairly good job. Calling in a favor from an old friend, he had some of the bugs in Irina's apartment disposed of. Other than that he has mostly been working on preparing the Doc's Ranch for the coming spring. Jade (Irreverent Jade): Still pretty much a vegetable. Jesiah Daen (JesiahDaen): No news this week. Johan (Johan the Hunter): No news this week. Joshua (Fashion Error): Renewed his rooms for another week. Still no luck on the job prospects. He sold some items he had to raise more funds to keep things paid for. Matakhat Cain (Matakhat Cain): Cat has returned from her father's funeral and is back in Rhydin trying to return to everyday life with some kind of normalcy. Her mother, Angelica Cain, and her lawyers have also been seen in Rhdyin. Apparantly, there are some legal issues regarding the Cain estate she's come to resolve causing additional stress to Cat who's trying to deal with her grief. Then the turtle barely had time to start working on those samples when his ward disappeared for a night after leaving a note. Which means the two have done a lot and yet...got nothing done.
