Ubique's Weekly

A Mutual Endeavors Publication

Issue #30 ~ 15 March 2004

The Blurb

Greetings and salutations, one and all! There is quite a bit for me to write about this week. Collaborative efforts have surpassed all our expectations this past week, and we have quite a number of news to share with one and all. To start things off, I would like to mention that there are quite a handful of new advertisements. So do be certain not to merely skim over the Classifieds section. You all have been working long and hard to come up with some exciting material and I would hate to see it all gone to waste.

Earlier this weekend I took some time to browse through some of my own personal favorite places. I've added so much to my collection over the past couple of years that it's going to take a lot of work to clean up the clutter. One of the places I bother to browse through is the long forgotten Red Dragon Inn Community message boards. Yes, they are still active and believe it or not people still post there. I've added an extra advertisement in our Classifieds that will link everybody to the RDI homepage that has been up for quite some time. Everything concerning the RDI is much simpler to find through that one site. While I was browsing, I also took the time to write my own post. It's been a long time coming, but I thought it was about time that I should be Giving Credit Where It's Due. So check it out.

Among other things, I have been spending a great deal of time creating a Ubique's Weekly website. Branched off of my own personal Ehz Site. At UW Headquarters, I have been toiling away many hours adding to a new Archives section. So if any of you newer readers are interested, feel free to visit the site and read over the older editions of Ubique's Weekly. All of you long time members can also take a visit and do the same. The Great Archiving Project still has quite a bit of work left to be done. Slowly but surely I am doing the best I can. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions are more than welcome should you readers have any ideas. Remember that collaboration is the key, not only for Mutual Endeavors and this publication, but also for anything pertaining to UW HQ Central.

Storyline Spotlight

There is still nothing to be added here to this section. However, I do have word from the Mistress Mallora that she is working on a write up for us. I cannot say when precisely we will have this information to share, but in the future there will be some news on the Temple of Love and Ecstasy. So keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned.

This Just In

Our Headlines We have an amazing selection of Headlines for you all to read this week. After smacking some people around, I actually received a pleasant handful of stories to indclude. I'm not going to bore you all by talking about it, so let's just move along in the reading.

Headlines

A Strange Look for a Familiar Face: A Strange Look for a Familiar Face: It seems Rev. Tom may be back but several reports indicate he seems very different. Rev. Diablo could not be reached for comment on these reports. Eyewitnesses claim he is looking more and more like the comic book character Wolverine every day. He has been acting out-of-character and there are many things about him which just don’t seem “right.” More on this as it comes in.

Bunnies, Bunnies, Bunnies:We wanted to report on the bunny situation but they ate the report and chased the reporter into a local swamp where he drowned. Bad, bad bunnies.

Cries in the Dark: Listening posts in close orbit around Rhydin report picking up faint signals believed to be distress signals. As yet, none of these claims have been verified by any known agency and this reporter chalks it all up to communications technicians with a little too much time on their hands.

On The Crime Beat: Anyone with information in the case of the murder of one Larry "Grabber" Nelson, a perpetrator previously charged with five counts of aggravated assault and two counts of petty theft, around the Silver Moon Inn as of February 29th, 2004, is to contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The Orcish Horde: Rumors have it that the orcs camped outside Rhydin are observing a sacred season and all attacks have ceased and may be on hold for a couple more weeks. No reporters sent to investigate have returned.

The Silver Surfer Redux: Apparently Robin Kalahola was abducted and turned into an interesting version of the Silver Surfer. Whoever sent him didn’t prepare him very well and the warnings he offers are less than ominous. Could his master be as innocuous as he is? Only time will tell.

Time and Space Distortions: Scientists are still baffled over the number of strange occurrences that have been going on over the past month. Many clocks and time telling devices continue to work erratically. People have begun to suddenly forget what they were doing for a second, only to look at the time and realize surprisingly that too much of it has gone by. In addition to these fluctuations, recent weather reports conclude that a massive snowstorm is moving in on the greater Rhy'Din area. What can only be presumed to be a blizzard is expected to fly into the city this coming weekend. An unexpected turn of events considering that this weekend is supposedly the First Day of Spring!

In Other News...

Lots and lots and lots of individual Character Updates. I really don't know what to say other than, read on!

2 Fly Harvery (Too Fly Harvery): National Supercross and Outdoor champion, Chasz Harvery has come to Rhydin. He has been seen tooling around Rhydin looking for courses to tear up. It has been reported he has landed a job with Blackjack Adventures.

Ahriman (TheAngraMaiynu): Rumor has it that he was seen at the docks with a cage trapping some rats he found there. Why he was doing such a thing is unknown, but it cannot be good.

Aldous the Axe (SMI Axe): No news this week.

Alexander Woods (Terra Nephilim): No news this week.

Alquin (Woodland Shield): No news this week.

Andrea Knight (Gaian Rampage): No news this week.

Anna (AriannaRavenwood): No change here, the blue sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen Ravenwood) and son Brion, is content to remain at present at her husband's clan lands with her twin sister and her immediate family.

Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren): The green sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and daughter Elaine (Elaine Aqua), still resides at her husband and brother in law's clan lands. She continues to worry about her one heartson Neko (Jibudoka Neko) after another letter she received from him speaking of fighting the orcs. Ariana made two brief appearances at the Silver Moon Inn this week, one to visit with Rose and Seamus and the other cooking for the SMI this past Saturday night. Other than this, working at the bakery and refusing to deliver pastries for a certain tender's shift, the green sister still is in private mourning and is planning to avenge her son's murder.

Arienh Crowther-Driscol (Arienh Driscol): As far as anyone knows she is busy watching the house while her parents are away on vacation.

Auggy (TSgtBenson): Auggy has been working on outfitting Misfit Squadron’s equipment with advanced technology to prepare for future threats. He has barely raised his head from his work in the last two weeks and friends are worried about him.

Calypso (Lady Proudfoot): It is time for a change. Instead of tuna, some liver pate would be nice.

Captain Merriam "Heavy Metal" Harris, USAF (Retired) (Heavy Metal Mer): No news this week.

Carolyn Ariana Valkonan (DreamsinBurgundy):No news this week.

Carmine (TaciturnMerc): On Vacation.

Cassiel (InvertedDarkness): He paid a visit to the SMI and enjoyed the company of Mesteno whom he has not seen in some time. As always with such visits, he combed out the sadist's hair.

Chase LeMonde (Chase LeMonde): No news this week.

Chaus (Wake up caIl): No news this week.

Colleen MacLeod (PrlUnicorn): Collie's husband, Ithildirnen (SMI Ithildirnen), has been tending bar in the stead of Sulrin (SMI Sulrin), who is reportedly traveling for a while.

Collie has happily taken on the request of Seamus and Rose (Seamus Wylie, A Stray Rose) to be the midwife tending to their forthcoming baby. She is greatly concerned about at least one person that seems to be forcing their will on Rose and in doing so, placing undue stress on the expectant mother. Those that know the spitfire of a bartender can foresee her gifting the offending party with a nasty tongue lashing.

She has also observed a few odd coincidences lately such as Joey Masters (Joey M Masters) being held at gunpoint in SMI by an unknown assailant (Trouble Brewing) not long after word went out that Irina Braeden had been mugged. Joey had a bike accident recently as did Alexander Lexington (Ov3rcl0ck). Could this have something to do with whatever Don is investigating regarding the water supply?

Collie is rather frustrated over the lack of public sightings of her beloved sister, Destinie MacLeod. Desti has always been her own woman according to Collie. The recent pushiness of her husband, Shun (XShunkun), has lead Lady MacLeod to wonder if her sister has run off to avoid his controlling behaviors. Collie has yet to see the nephews and niece she was supposed to deliver.

It seems a certain party has attempted to apologize for offenses against Colleen and her family. Collie does not see dead people, spirits are another matter.

D (Duncan H Harper): No news this week.

Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter): The scarred law woman in black still investigates various crime sprees, including a recent series of muggings in the slum areas. Rachael is currently investigating the murder of one Larry "Grabber" Nelson. This has kept the Deputy Marshall too busy to appear in public.

Diana Lasher (Fragile Fury): Commander Lasher was seen recently requesting a light show from someone she referred to as "Hawk" during the recent incident with a group known as the Red Suits (Keep em Clean). Rumor is Hawk is her wingman.

Lasher and Auggy Benson (TSgtBenson), who has reportedly been promoted to Ensign, are apparently working on some sort of project to help cope with the recently discovered virus.

Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan): She's tending to her patients as usual. The good Doctor took another brief break from her usual duties and made a public appearance at the Silver Moon Inn. Maranya continues to spend time volunteering her medical services at a local free clinic.

Drake Valkonan (Drake Valkonan): No news this week.

Dris (BardGaIIant): On Vacation.

Dr. Newborn (Nigel Newborn): No news this week.

Ehzoterik VonArcanum Tempestas (Ehzoterik): No news this week.

Elaine (Elaine Aqua): Elaine still continues to make batches of cinnamon rolls for the person who got her bad dreams to stop. She still misses her brother Banshee (Banshee Aqua) and really truly doesn't believe he's truly gone.

Emmy (Empress Grayfur): Is really starting to highly dislike the smell of cinnamon and wonders when Elaine will be done making all those rolls.

Erasimus Greene (PersistanceTime): No news this week.

Faye: She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random): Still hibernating, though rumor has it she will be coming out of hibernation this weekend. On the official First Day of Spring.

Fury (ReversedHaIo): No news this week.

Gem (Gemethyst, SMI Gem): No news this week.

Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden): In this week's installment, Irina's quit one job and gotten a totally new job, no Metroid attacks!, made a few new friends, moved from the Moon to an apartment at Northedge then back to the Moon, blown away some xenos, still didn't catch the viruses out there yet!, hits the local inns most every night and yet she still finds time to work on the next issue of Bright Suns. All in all, a pretty typical week for this native Rhydin resident. Stay tuned.

J (Duncan J Harper): Still no news.

Jack Bishop (Jackrabbit Blue): For most of the past week he has been out of town. His old acquaintance Gaspard (Whorls and Gears) spoke to some people at the Silver Moon Inn about an incident in which Jack blew up his forge. Thanks to the intervention of Irina (Irina Braeden) and Joe (Joe Yamada), any future threats to Jack's life have been removed from the equation of his existence. Jack returned to Rhy'Din without much to say about his misadventures on Earth, but it is quite clear he is very happy to be home.

Jesiah Daen (JesiahDaen): He has not been seen in the past week, and a note is left tacked on his door that reads simply "Not Here."

Johan (Johan the Hunter): No news this week.

Joshua (Fashion Error): Renewed his rooms for another week. He met up with a grouchy nocker who had some valued advice for him in locating a trod and perhaps even finding a means to make some income so he can continue to lay for his rooms.

Kakabel (FrameworkMemento): Still locked away in Gem's mansion watching over the baby from time to time.

Kevin (Kevin N Summers): No news this week.

Kulkem (The Multifarious):

Kymeera: The Nightmare Keeper (The Dream Warden): Kymeera made an appearance at the Silver Moon Inn this past weekend for reasons rumored to be related to harassing one of the official bartenders who had tried to flirt with Revari. The Nightmare Keeper found the entire ordeal extremely amusing. He also had a great time scaring the bejeezus out of one of the patrons, harassing other patrons, and actually holding conversation with an angel for a bit. It felt good to get out and about, but he much prefers not to bother with the world on a personal level.

L:(Almighty LSama, SMI LSama): No news this week.

Mallora (Ma11ora): Mallora's been out and about in Rhy'Din lately... not often just enough to get the Triplets out for a little air now and again. In fact, rumor has it that she was recently spotted at Ariana's Divine Delight's Bakery. See: A little outting for more details.

Matakhat Cain (Matakhat Cain): It's been a hard week for Cat. After her mother threatening to take the Haradas through an ugly court battle to get back power of attorney from Don and Syd, and them refusing to give it, they finally settled on an agreement. She'd drop the suit and give over all parental rights to the Harada's in exchange for the part of her inheritance that includes the Cain Manor, Cat's childhood home, Bellecrest.

Matriel (Rarefied Rain): No news this week.

Melly (Melanie Wyndham): Will the shy relief baker and counter help at Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery ever tend bar at the Silver Moon Inn?

Mervyn (Vicious Mervyn): Keeping coins safe for the world at large.

Mesteno (Bronze Mesteno): Trouble aplenty for the sadist this week. Not only was he shot at by his ex-husband Sally who can't recall their past relationship due to mind tampering, but he's been shocked by stumbling across a colleague/friend throwing home-made bombs in the street and decapitating Syndicate enemies in front of the Law! He was missing for two days when he agreed to help his friend Mikhail during a ceremony and ended up being attacked by several hundred undead as they swarmed to interrupt. He finally reappeared looking the worse for wear, and has decided to take a break from heroics for a while to recover, though as ever it's unlikely the restless sadist will stick to the plan!

Mestrangelo (MestrangeIo): The purveyor has rarely been seen the past few weeks, and while the reasons have been hinted at, Mestrangelo herself isn't talking just yet. It has been overheard that not only is her store keeping her busy, but a new project and an impending vacation may also play their parts.

And that vacation, apparantly, won't be taken alone! The last several public appearances of the purveyor have seen her in rather close company with the Wraith, Martin (MK5 Wraith 42080). Seems that someone finally thawed the icy business woman! Though with how comfortable these two seem, it makes one wonder how long this might have been going on...?

Mithril/Gadreel/Lusus (ASaintOfSinners): Still out of town.

Morgan Knight (Morgan Rampage): No news this week.

Mozart (AmadaeusFelidae): He is back! And it would seem that Carmine is away to miss his great return. Silly human.

Nicole Brock Anorlasvessë (Nicole E Brock): Nicole and her husband, Anorlas (AnorIas) have opened a jewelry shop in Rhydin's downtown area. Anorlas will continue his duties as a post rider for Eldicor while Nikki tends to the day to day running of the store.

Ophelia (EspressoBlues): No news this week.

Parhi Grimjaws (The Multifarious): No news this week.

Pleione (Stellar Balinese): Still watching over Rei like a good little creepy guardian.

Rachael MacLeod (RachaeI MacLeod): She was seen conversing with Ithildirnen (SMI Ithildirnen), her stepfather, regarding Loranthias and Sulrin's journey to their homeland, Middle Earth.

Rachael has been the victim of an unfortunate accident. While in the ladies room of the SMI, she tripped and struck her head. It seems she has no recollection of Sulrin. Her mother believes that what seems to be temporary amnesia is a kinder thing than Rachael crying herself to sleep. She does recall family members, but it is not known who or what else she has forgotten.

Raef (Hraefn Korppi): No news this week.

Ramiel (Ember Shade): No news this week.

Randall Woods (Elaborate Guns): No news this week.

Rei (AmethystStarfall): Life is ever simple when one is an infant. Sleeping, feeding, the company of his beloved mother. Who could ask for anything more?

Rekah (Rekah Dravina): No news this week.

Revari: The Daydream Weaver (KaleidoscopeWhim): Revari has been seen on quite a number of occassions tending bar at the Silver Moon Inn. Having borrowed Faye's nametag of course. In only one incident was she mistaken for the actual Randy, but she did not let that bother her. Her duty is merely to stand in Faye's place until she comes out of hibernation, and she has been doing her duty well.

Rhiannon Brock (Rhiannon D Brock): Rhiannon is attending to her duties in Eldicor. Word is she will eventually be teaching blade skills to the Princess Erwyn.

Rose Hayes Valkonan (Electrum Rose): No news this week.

Seamus Wylie (Seamus Wylie): No news this week.

Shiver (The Multifarious): No news this week.

Stephen Valkonan (Stephen Valkonan): No news this week.

Suriel (Thirteenthchange): No news this week.

Sydney and Donatello Harada (SmileFang, DonatalIo Harada): No news this week.

Terrance Tomar-Duncan (Terrance Tomar): Terrance is still out of town.

The Archangel Camael (Emerald Nimbus): No news this week.

The Red Suits (Keep em clean): The Red Suits were seen accompanying Irina Braeden and Diana Lasher (Fragile Fury) out of the SMI. Foul play was prepared for by Joe Yamada, who was manning his vehicle and weapons outside the inn, and members of the Misfit Squadron in the air.

The Red Suits were purported to be taking the women and Joe to find their friend, Auggy Benson (TSgtBenson). Irina and Joe have both been seen in the SMI since that event.

The Dutai have been very quiet lately. In a statement issued to this publication, the Dutai stated they are preparing for future outbreaks. Let’s wish these bugs luck as they contend with all kinds of nasty viruses.

Tomas Dante Diablo (Rev DiabIo, Revered Tengu): See our Headlines

Tricky Streets (Tricky Streets): Tricky has been doing very well and his virus is dormant thanks to the intervention of Dutai technicians who have halted the progress of the disease. Thanks to the financial support of one Dau Oxender, Mr. Streets has purchased armor and weapons and gone into business as a bounty hunter. So far, he has brought in three skips and earned enough to upgrade his armor and buy a small apartment in the Tech Sector. Anyone interested in securing his services is encouraged to contact him directly. He specializes in apprehension of wanted criminals but he will also accept missing person cases.

Troy (Troy Embry): No news this week.

Vadriel (Vadriel de Guise): The heretic has been contentedly avoiding most of Rhy'Din life, as usual, though he did make a brief appearance to rescue a battered sadist during the middle of the week. Otherwise he has been happily spending any spare time with Cassiel.

Valleana (Va11eana): Valleana's curiously been absent from the world outside the temple.

Wilhelm "Dozer" Braun (SMI Dozer): After a long time away, Dozer has returned to Rhydin. In an exclusive interview, he revealed the reason for his departure. A string of events not too long ago had a major impact on him and he had to take some time away to recover. He spent three months in rehab. He is still plagued by his past and he was not willing to go into exactly what haunts him but he made it clear that he won’t be back on duty for some time now. He is currently staying at a private residence where he is working on overcoming the specters of his past.

Ynik (The Multifarious): A Jedi master from the distant past, the tall Trandoshan has been making a small impression in Rhydin, especially the Silver Moon Inn. He is trying to get gems of a very peculiar kind. And he hasn't been using his lightsaber for some reason...

Ynik fought a major battle, along with Joe Yamada, Sylvie (Soul to Bear), and Irina Braedon against what appears to be a new kind of Xenomorphs (ElegantLethality). They managed to fight off a potentially drastic infestation, but didn't succeed in eradicating the reproductive members of the hive.

Yoshi (KitsuneNineTails): There is something to be said for the simple, mundane, and very low brow act of TPing a tree. The fact that the tree was on the grounds of some arrogant nobleman made it all the better.

Zeke (XZekeil DrakeX): No news is good news.

Zelphina (XZeIphina): Still missing.

Announcements

Ubique's Weekly and Mutual Endeavors would like to take this moment to send out a great big birthday greetings to one of ME's very own members. Today (March 15, 2004) marks the celebration of Gemethyst's birthday! So if anyone sees this particular player around, do be sure to wish her a very happy birthday. From all of us to all of you, Gemethyst, happy birthday! And may your future be littered with many more happy days to come!

Also, this Wednesday (March 17, 2004) is none other than St. Patrick's Day! So don all the green you can find, dig up some shamrocks, and haul out the heavy liquor. It's a day of celebration in drunken style. From all of us to all of you from Ubique's Weekly and Mutual Endeavors, Happy St. Patrick's Day one and all!

Once all the celebrating is over and everyone has worked off their hangovers, don't forget that this Saturday (March 20, 2004) is officially the first day of Spring! Though us Northern folks won't be seeing an end to the snow for at least another month yet, it's still worthy of celebration. According to the calendar system (as illogical as it can be sometimes), Saturday is the day! The first day of Spring! Huzzah!
