Storyline Spotlight

Illithids: The Illithid node, quiescent for three weeks, remains so as far as anyone can tell. The observers who keep track of such things were visited earlier this week by agents bearing the identification of the Department of the Exterior (the infamous Men In Plaid) who informed them that the observation of the Illithid node would no longer be necessary. At all. Not even a little bit.

DoX administrator Homer Grimsby was unavailable for comment. However, his assistant Harvey Banks insisted that the agents involved were acting in accordance with standing DoX orders, and had not overstepped the bounds of their legal authority in informing the observers, mostly private parties, that if they continued their surveillance they might invoke unusual nexus activity which would cause their own disappearance without a trace, possibly followed by their reappearance in tiny pieces.

Other agents of the Department who could be reached for comment denied all knowledge of anyone named Harvey Banks, and insisted that Homer Grimsby is assisted only by a staff of secretaries and a limo driver, none of whom are named Banks at all. None of these agents could subsequently be reached for confirmation.

Rhydin Baywatch?: Rhydin Shore Patrol is investigating a massacre at what appears to have been a luau. Details on the shooting spree are being withheld by authorities. A total of twenty-six people were shot to death with a variety of weapons. Until further notice, a square mile of Rhydin's coast is closed to the public.

Ahriman (TheAngraMaiynu): He is still working on damage control. Things are going to get even uglier we fear.

Aiken Gemm (Ashadow0fme): The town's favorite drunkard, may not be 'drunkard' much longer. Surviving in a realm that seems to thrive around Tavern's hasn't been easy for the twitchy, stuttering Wood Carver;regardless, Aiken has been able to keep himself busy with incoming wood work and requests. There have been some bumps and rolls from the 'wagon', but that is to be expected.

Aldous the Axe (SMI Axe): The mysterious right hand to Management has gone back to taking care of business behind the scenes at the Silver Moon Inn.

Amaliel (AmaIiel): Has a new job that has kept him out of circulation lately, and is likely to be away for a while.

Anna (AriannaRavenwood): Still no change here, the blue sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen Ravenwood) and son Brion, is content to remain at present at her husband's clan lands with her twin sister and her immediate family.

Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren): The green sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and daughter Elaine (Elaine Aqua), still resides at her husband and brother in law's clan lands. Even though she recently received a letter from her one heartson Neko (Jibudoka Neko) , she still worries about him. Despite her ongoing feud with a certain tender at the Silver Moon Inn, Ariana continues to deliver pastries for his shift after his recent collapse. Other than working at the bakery, the green sister still is in private mourning and is planning to avenge her son's murder.

Auggy (TSgtBenson): Auggy, along with Troy Embry, escorted his fiancee Irina to the star system he once called home.

Bromaugher The Dimunitive (Bromaugher): No reported sightings this week.

Calypso (Lady Proudfoot): She is still entertaining her adoring public.

Carmine (Tacitern Merc): The mercenary continues to collect back pay from those that owe the Silver Moon Inn money.

Carver Mephisto (Carver Mephisto): The Butcher of Old Detroit is still wanted for various murders as well as the Tablesetter murders. Anyone with information about this fugitive from justice are urged to contact authorities immediately. Do not approach or attempt to apprehend this man. Several law enforcement agencies classify Mephisto as the most dangerous man in Rhydin.

Cassiel (Inverted Darkness): The enigmatic angel has once again dissapeared for the most part. He does take time to see Vadriel, but so far that is the extent of his earthly visitations.

Cathryrynn Smythe (Ashadow0fme): Cat is just about ready to throw in the towel, and strangle Random. However, surprisingly enough-the Old Owl has showed an infinite amount of patience for her rather 'special' apprentice and his pseudo dragon. Hopefully, something will happen soon. Random's head is scheduled to explode.

Chase LeMonde (Chase LeMonde): The Marshall is back to work. Adrienne (Adrienne LaCroix) is currently dealing with the paperwork mess at HQ. Chase hasn't been seen taking anything from any tenders recently.

Chasz Harvey (Chasz Harvey ): Chasz has been busy purchasing equipment and grooming trails for Blackjack Adventures.

Cryptopakolips the Unseasoned (The Multifarious): Wednesday night, the Master Fleshtender stepped outside the Silver Moon to check and see whether a crate of fanmail for Irina was enchanted (it wasn't) when he caught sight of the Bird-Legged Hut parked in front of the Inn by a Hag. When he saw it, he seemed enraged at the sight and cast a Rocket spell to leave in a hurry. For some details on where he went, check the entry for Kulkem...

Damon Waters (Damon Waters): The mysterious janitor has been seen around Rhydin lately.

Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter): The scarred law woman in black still investigates various crime sprees, including a recent series of muggings in the slum areas. Rachael is doing her best to wrap up the investigations on the murder of one Larry "Grabber" Nelson, the kidnapping of one Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden) and the alleged assault of Morgan Knight at the Silver Moon Inn on April 6th. She's frustrated in her investigations because to date no one's come forward with any information.

Dechirant and Fayalki (Dechirant, Fayalki): Fayalki and Dey had fun unofficially hosting the Red Dragon Inn one night this week. Hopefully soon they will be able to put their aprons back on.

Meanwhile, frog hunting season is in full swing, and if you find any pairs of moccasins, please deliver them to Fayalki, as his wife cannot seem to keep track of them while wading into ponds and streams after frogs.

Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan): She's tending to her patients as usual, including one of the tenders at the Silver Moon Inn. The good Doctor continues to spend time volunteering her medical services at a local free clinic and continues to consult with Doctor Jacobs about a mutual patient. Maranya has currently locked herself up in her laboratory with regards to certain medical experiments, though she is taking time to personally supervise the landscaping on her ranch again, now that spring is here.

Dris (Bard GaIIant): Still out of town.

Elaine (Elaine Aqua): Elaine has absolutely stopped making cinnamon rolls and is glad that school's finally out for the summer! She still misses her brother Banshee (Banshee Aqua) and really truly doesn't believe he's truly gone.

Emmy (Empress Grayfur): Lately the Empress Emerald of Grayfur has expressed an intense interest in desiring to prowl and has been seen less and less at home over the past couple of weeks.

Erasimus Greene (PersistanceTime): There is still no news on the crazy gnome.

Gunnery Sergeant Troy Embry (PersistanceTime): Sgt. Embry has escorted Lieutenant Benson and his fiancee back to Avelta Prime for a state ball.

Guthorm (Guthorm Othinsson): It is getting worse. He was healing fairly well and without any misfortunes until he began to Move more and push the issue, at Hops House and the MacEwan's Riverhouse, of too much rest and too much confinement and too much boredom. He refused to sit and so Stan and Finn walked with him, went all the way down to the ferry yesterday, even rode a little on horseback today to inspect the hops. It wall all to try to tire him out and settle him down. They did, but now he is very cranky at feeling so tired. He lost a lot of blood and his worst wound made breathing hard and so recovery is long and frustrating. News from town and the docks is non-existant and he has no idea of what friends are doing and what trouble they are in. Along with woundfever, his frustration and impatience to get back all his energy is driving him and everyone else crazy. Stan has offered to write for him some small letters to friends, but he is stubborn. "I will not bother them," he said to her. But if perchance he got a little note first....

Guthorm (A Tow HeadedKid): The six-year-old has escaped the MacEwan property on more than one occassion, mostly in the mornings, early. He has been seen in town, in the places the Big One frequents, and at the docks. He has met some very interesting people in one of the town taverns and seen some real funny kissy-kissy stuff on the porch. He witnessed an arguement between a little scaredy-looking woman and a man who talked funny. He met a strange, pretty boy one morning. The kid has also been seen at the docks hanging around a beautiful tallmasted heathen ship (owned by a small and very pretty woman) and another, a longship much like the kind from his own homeland. As a matter of fact, he was caught snooping on that longship by a warriorwoman and nearly thrown overboard. She was not pleased to find him spying on her ship and she and the crew tried to scare the bee-geebers out of him. He answered her questions though and gave her his most fierce glare, so they spared him his swim. Instead, he gained from her a Tor's hammer amulet as a gift to help protect him from harm in this big place. He returned gift for gift by later giving her a wolfshead armband he had stolen from the Big One's coffer. She accepted it too. Oh, and he met another warrior woman; a Giant with big sparkly gems in her forehead. Wow! And though he was being very good at the time, She yanked him forcefully outside and tried to drown him in the horse trough in front of the Medieval Tavern! Maybe she didn't like how he talks. Girls sure get weird when they grow up. But, hey, when he's wandering around the taverns, he is picking up some got-am Common!

Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden): In this week's installment, Irina's gone with her fiance back to his homeworld to meet his 'rents. No other news of note. All in all, a pretty typical week for this native Rhydin resident. Stay tuned.

Jim Smith (TheSpiritRemains): Will likely never again play Truth or Dare after upsetting Irina (Irina Braeden) with a racy dare to Peb (Pebeledd). A less than friendly encounter with Jules's father and some new business that has him on the telephone constantly made the rest of the week extra spiffy.

Joker (SMI Joker, Richard D Harker): The flirtatious bartender for the Silver Moon Inn just worked his normal shift the past week. He's also finished training a new barjockey, keeping an eye on his younger brother Nige (Peter N Harker), has been heard making threats to kill a mysterious Him and learned something rather disturbing about his younger brother. Joker is currently under the expert medical care of the Valkyrie (Maranya Valkonan).

Jules (Jules Braeden): She hired the services of a healer to help speed the healing process along. She is now currently trying to convince her father that making friends with a biker and a sailor is not such a bad thing. After all those two are more gentlemanly than a lot of gentlemen she knows.

Kakabel (Framework Memento): Oh where, oh where has Kakabel gone? Oh where, oh where could he be?

Kulkem (Kulkem): Shortly after Cryptopakolips the Unseasoned took off from the Silver Moon Inn, he appeared at the estate of Kulkem, his fellow Archmage, and in a fit of pique somehow enlisted his help in getting his tower back. Mallora (Ma11ora): She, along with her daughter Valleana, will be out of town for the next few weeks.

Melly (Melanie Wyndham): Will the shy relief baker and counter help at Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery ever tend bar at the Silver Moon Inn? The world may never know.

Mervyn (Vicious Mervyn): Still relentlessly guarding the till at the Silver Moon Inn.

Mesteno (Bronze Mesteno): It's been a quiet week for the sadist, who's been enjoying spending some time with Michael now that classes are over at University and for once, staying out of trouble! He also ran into Mithril for the first time in months!

Miguel (Rev Diablo): Miguel has been running the dojo while Rev has dealt with the local mob problem. With matters settled, the dojo has reopened and Miguel has been left in charge. He is also preparing for the Rhydin Galactic Championships where he will compete in free fighting, weapons, forms, musical forms, and self-defense demonstration. Let's all wish Miguel luck as he prepares for this prestigious tournament.

Mithril/Gadreel/Lusus (ASaintofSinners): He is on vacation again, for real this time.

Mozart (Amadeus Felidae): He is still watching the strange human invader that Carmine brought home.

Neko (Ji'budoka Neko): Ariana's heartson (once known as Pup) has finally contacted Ariana via letter. Ariana has yet to disclose the contents of the letter.

P. Nigel Harker (Peter N Harker): Nige has not been seen since he made certain insinuations to his brother. What those insinuations were are known only to The Silver Moon Inn's own Joker.

Pleione (Stellar Balinese): What!? No missing cat posters!?

Rei (Amethyst Starfall): He had quite the surprise when he met a character from Irina's comic come to life. Just when he thought that reality could not get any more warped, it does.

Robin (Robin Kalahola): In a telecom interview, Robin expressed great enthusiasm for the summer season. With temperatures reaching record highs all over Rhydin, it's a sure bet people will be flocking to the beaches. Robin and his employer invite everyone to visit Blackjack Adventures' Shoreline Office to schedule expert guided aquatic recreation.

Suliss'urn (AShadow0fMe): Unbeknownst to Random, or poor Cat- 'Kai's(KaoticArtist) brother is not as smooth as he seems. Leaving the door unlocked last evening, gave Suliss all that she needed. The process was, indeed, painful-but the wrathful Drowess has broken the odd spell the man held over her, and slipped wrist from chains to take flight. Where she is at the moment, is again, unknown. She may be looking for her mate Random.

Terrance Tomar-Duncan (Terrance Tomar): Finally came out of his cave and visited the Silver Moon Inn to catch up with a few old friends. He updated some folks on his mental status, which is now Single--he has integrated and now nobody needs to wonder who they are talking to, it's all just Terrance. Now he has gone out of town yet again.

Tomas Dante Diablo (Rev Diablo, Revered Tengu): Rev is still on hiatus with his girlfriend, Cadence. The two are enjoying some much-needed time away from the chaos of Rhydin. Those needing to contact Rev can do so through Miguel (Rev Diabio).

Zohak (ABafflingEnigma): With the Man In Black and his atarra out of town, he has been spending time with various other keepers. He is also having to deal with the fact that he looks a lot older than he is mentally, and people reacting accordingly.
