Storyline Spotlight

Illithids: The Illithid node, quiescent for three weeks, remains so as far as anyone can tell. The observers who keep track of such things were visited earlier this week by agents bearing the identification of the Department of the Exterior (the infamous Men In Plaid) who informed them that the observation of the Illithid node would no longer be necessary. At all. Not even a little bit.

DoX administrator Homer Grimsby was unavailable for comment. However, his assistant Harvey Banks insisted that the agents involved were acting in accordance with standing DoX orders, and had not overstepped the bounds of their legal authority in informing the observers, mostly private parties, that if they continued their surveillance they might invoke unusual nexus activity which would cause their own disappearance without a trace, possibly followed by their reappearance in tiny pieces.

Other agents of the Department who could be reached for comment denied all knowledge of anyone named Harvey Banks, and insisted that Homer Grimsby is assisted only by a staff of secretaries and a limo driver, none of whom are named Banks at all. None of these agents could subsequently be reached for confirmation.

Rhydin Baywatch?: Rhydin Shore Patrol is investigating a massacre at what appears to have been a luau. Details on the shooting spree are being withheld by authorities. A total of twenty-six people were shot to death with a variety of weapons. Until further notice, a square mile of Rhydin's coast is closed to the public.

Ahriman (TheAngraMaiynu): He is still working on damage control. Things are going to get even uglier we fear.

Aldous the Axe (SMI Axe): The mysterious right hand to Management has gone back to taking care of business behind the scenes at the Silver Moon Inn.

Amaliel (AmaIiel): The Malakim's new job as Mithril's bodyguard is exposing him to interesting people and information.

Anna (AriannaRavenwood): Still no change here, the blue sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen Ravenwood) and son Brion, is content to remain at present at her husband's clan lands with her twin sister and her immediate family.

Ariana (ArianaMacGyldren): The green sister, along with her husband Galen (Galen MacGyldren) and daughter Elaine (Elaine Aqua), still resides at her husband and brother in law's clan lands. Even though she recently received a letter from her one heartson Neko (Jibudoka Neko) , she still worries about him. Despite her ongoing feud with a certain tender at the Silver Moon Inn, Ariana continues to deliver pastries for his shift after his recent collapse. Other than working at the bakery, the green sister still is in private mourning and is planning to avenge her son's murder.

Bromaugher The Dimunitive (Bromaugher): No reported sightings this week.

Caife (SMI Multifarious): Tuesday night, Caife was tending when another Coffee Machine Golem came into the Silver Moon Inn. Tentatively going under the name Java, this Golem is physically similar to Caife. Mentally, it appears to have undergone some differences of experience - Java has a keen sense of personal space, for example, whereas Caife has been known to endure being mauled by a lion with perfect aplomb. The new golem has a similar activity cycle as well, and is currently on standby beside Caife on the counter behind the Silver Moon's bar.

Calypso (Lady Proudfoot): She is still entertaining her adoring public.

Carmine (Tacitern Merc): The mercenary continues to collect back pay from those that owe the Silver Moon Inn money. His most recent "client" was one of many disturbed demons that roam the land. He also charged him for property damage as this creature destroyed some trees on the inn grounds.

Carver Mephisto (Carver Mephisto): The Butcher of Old Detroit is still wanted for various murders as well as the Tablesetter murders. Anyone with information about this fugitive from justice are urged to contact authorities immediately. Do not approach or attempt to apprehend this man. Several law enforcement agencies classify Mephisto as the most dangerous man in Rhydin.

Cassiel (Inverted Darkness): He paid a visit to the Rambling Rose Tavern and was able to send a message that others asked for. Aside from that, he has been keeping pretty much to himself, save for the times that he spends with Vadriel.

Chasz Harvey (Chasz Harvey ): Chasz has been busy purchasing equipment and grooming trails for Blackjack Adventures.

Cryptopakolips the Unseasoned (The Multifarious): Recently, the Master Fleshtender stepped outside the Silver Moon to check and see whether a crate of fanmail for Irina was enchanted (it wasn't) when he caught sight of the Bird-Legged Hut parked in front of the Inn by a Hag. When he saw it, he seemed enraged at the sight and cast a Rocket spell to leave in a hurry. For some details on where he went, check the entry for Kulkem...

Damon Waters (Damon Waters): The mysterious janitor has been seen around Rhydin lately.

Deputy Marshall Wynter (Rachael Wynter): The scarred law woman in black still investigates various crime sprees, including a recent series of muggings in the slum areas. Rachael is doing her best to wrap up the investigations on the murder of one Larry "Grabber" Nelson, the kidnapping of one Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden) and the alleged assault of Morgan Knight at the Silver Moon Inn on April 6th. She's frustrated in her investigations because to date no one's come forward with any information.

Dechirant and Fayalki (Dechirant, Fayalki): Dey and Fayalki did their first Red Dragon Inn shift together in over a year, this Friday past. With between 11 and 20 others in the room, they were kept busy. Dey managed fairly well, with only one drink order getting confused.

Past friends: Cairo (Cairo Trfalgar), Laurel (Laurelleaves), Darkmere (DarkmereAlcar), Gem (Gemethyst), Sir Robert (Sr Robert Grail), Lucius (LuciusdeAustr) and Woody (WoodySprite) arrived for drinks and company. The fabulous Collie (HOST Game Collie) took over at host after Dey (HOST Game Dey) and Fayalki (HOST Game Hunter) finished.

Newly met friends: an enigmatic lady who smoked and looked rather dangerous (Jupiter v Jazz), Franky with the very expressive claws (PriestessFrankie), a red-haired dwarf wearing horns (Jjsnsnake), the wine taster (RICAU5)--he even tried peppermint wine!, the lady with pretty pink hair (Raggold) and the young lady Yigi (Yiginaru Samatae) who enjoys tea.

There was even a rumor that Grail's evil stew might be returning--beware!

Doctor Maranya Tatiana Valkonan (Maranya Valkonan): She's tending to her patients as usual, including one of the tenders at the Silver Moon Inn. The good Doctor continues to spend time volunteering her medical services at a local free clinic and continues to consult with Doctor Jacobs about a mutual patient. Maranya has currently locked herself up in her laboratory with regards to certain medical experiments, though she is taking time to personally supervise the landscaping on her ranch again, now that spring is here.

Dris (Bard GaIIant): Still out of town.

Elaine (Elaine Aqua): Elaine has absolutely stopped making cinnamon rolls and is glad that school's finally out for the summer! She still misses her brother Banshee (Banshee Aqua) and really truly doesn't believe he's truly gone.

Emmy (Empress Grayfur): Lately the Empress Emerald of Grayfur has expressed an intense interest in desiring to prowl and has been seen less and less at home over the past couple of weeks.

Erasimus Greene (PersistanceTime): There is still no news on the crazy gnome.

Gem (Gemethyst, SMI Gemethyst): Not much is going on with Gem, other than that she has been dealing with hell hounds, a blackmailer, a Drow Priest, a thieving job that might net her some 100,000 gold pieces, her father, and this and that. She has been out of town quite a bit, in dealing with the aforementioned items or situations. Thus she has not been seen much around Rhydin, though she pops up here and there. Probably already known is that Mer is living at her manor, and the security of her manor has, thus, of course, been improved drastically. She misses those of her friends that she has not seen much of late, and particularly, her son.

Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden): In this week's installment, Irina's presumably returned from her trip to meet her fiance Auggy's family. No other news of note. All in all, a pretty typical week for this native Rhydin resident. Stay tuned.

Jim Smith (TheSpiritRemains): Jim spent the week on the phone, scolding workaholics, trying to be a good influence on Zohak, becoming an honorary pooka via Jinx's on-the-spot testing, riding with Jules and generally making a pest of himself whenever possible.

Joker (SMI Joker, Richard D Harker): The flirtatious bartender for the Silver Moon Inn just worked his normal shift the past week. He's also finished training a new barjockey, keeping an eye on his younger brother Nige (Peter N Harker), has been heard making threats to kill a mysterious Him and learned something rather disturbing about his younger brother. Joker is currently under the expert medical care of the Valkyrie (Maranya Valkonan).

Jules (Jules Braeden): She has been laying low this week. She has also begun to date a fallen angel along with the biker guy that she is seeing. Seems to be her plan to drive her poor father to distraction.

Kakabel (Framework Memento): Oh where, oh where has Kakabel gone? Oh where, oh where could he be?

Kulkem (Kulkem): Shortly after Cryptopakolips the Unseasoned took off from the Silver Moon Inn, he appeared at the estate of Kulkem, his fellow Archmage, and in a fit of pique somehow enlisted his help in getting his tower back. Mallora (Ma11ora): She has returned to her Temple in Rhy'Din after her vacation back home.

Matakhat Cain (Matakhat Cain ): Cat's been spending her time helping Rose and Seamus in the Rambling Rose Tavern. When not there, she's in her new VW Bug Convertible zipping through Rhydin or back and forth to her old home, Bellecrest. Even though school is out and she doesn't start her first semester at the College of Central Rhydin until late August, she's been seen carrying a text book on property law.

Melly (Melanie Wyndham): Will the shy relief baker and counter help at Ariana's Divine Delights Bakery ever tend bar at the Silver Moon Inn? The world may never know.

Mervyn (Vicious Mervyn): Still relentlessly guarding the till at the Silver Moon Inn.

Mesteno (Bronze Mesteno): The sadist has spent most of the week in the company of his boyfriend Michael, though did make a couple of appearances at the Silver Moon Inn, where he discovered Terrance seemed to have an old grudge against him due to his actions during their trip to Hell last December. Mesteno has since apologised and promised to try and rectify the situation, and offered his services to Mithril to help with getting rid of "Mr Angry". Further troubles with the snake that resides around his arm caused for embarrasment at the Medieval Tavern, but otherwise, things have been pleasantly quiet.

Miguel (Rev Diablo): Miguel has been running the dojo while Rev has dealt with the local mob problem. With matters settled, the dojo has reopened and Miguel has been left in charge. He is also preparing for the Rhydin Galactic Championships where he will compete in free fighting, weapons, forms, musical forms, and self-defense demonstration. Let's all wish Miguel luck as he prepares for this prestigious tournament.

Mithril/Gadreel/Lusus (ASaintofSinners): He has been as busy as ever, working on various esoteric projects that he is ever so secretive about. He has been a lot more social of late, and has been spending some quality time in the Silver Moon Inn.

Mozart (Amadeus Felidae): He is still watching the strange human invader that Carmine brought home.

Neko (Ji'budoka Neko): Ariana's heartson (once known as Pup) has finally contacted Ariana via letter. Ariana has yet to disclose the contents of the letter.

P. Nigel Harker (Peter N Harker): Nige has not been seen since he made certain insinuations to his brother. What those insinuations were are known only to The Silver Moon Inn's own Joker.

Pleione (Stellar Balinese): What!? No missing cat posters!?

Rachael MacLeod (Rachael MacLeod): She and Sulrin have recently gone public with the revelation of Rachael's pregnancy.

Rei (Amethyst Starfall): He has been keeping inside the house ever since a mishap dyed him yellow. He refuses to go out until the color is off him. Yellow is one of the colors he hates the most, and being dyed that shade is beyond irritating. He has vowed to beat up whoever did this to him. In the mean time he is wondering how he feels about his mother and her friends as he seems so removed from them most of the time.

Robin (Robin Kalahola): In a telecom interview, Robin expressed great enthusiasm for the summer season. With temperatures reaching record highs all over Rhydin, it's a sure bet people will be flocking to the beaches. Robin and his employer invite everyone to visit Blackjack Adventures' Shoreline Office to schedule expert guided aquatic recreation.

Terrance Tomar-Duncan (Terrance Tomar): Came back from his trip early. He ran into Mesteno for the first time since their mission into Hell, and had to admit that the very sight of the sadist brings back unbearable memories. They will be working on fixing that--it's no fun for either of them.

Tomas Dante Diablo (Rev Diablo, Revered Tengu): Rev is still on hiatus with his girlfriend, Cadence. The two are enjoying some much-needed time away from the chaos of Rhydin. Those needing to contact Rev can do so through Miguel (Rev Diabio).

Twelve (The Multifarious): Twelve got involved earlier this week in a poker game with various Norse gods, but despite having only one advantage - a truly spectacular poker face - he managed to win nicely due to Loki's cheating in his favor in an effort to get Thor's gauntlets. The attempt failed when Twelve inadvertently revealed the cheating attempt, although Loki managed to frame an unfortunate frost giant, who promptly got pounded into mulch by everyone else at the table. In appreciation of Twelve's honesty, Tyr gave Twelve a little gift - a blanket that puts out any fire it's waved at. Twelve is currently wearing this wrapped under his ragged tunic, folded so that he can get at it easily. Meanwhile, later in the week, the big troll-kin was rather thunderstruck by the new Coffee Machine Golem behind the bar (See Caife). Also, he seemed to react oddly to the presence of Irina...

Vadriel (Vadriel de Guise): The good doctor has been absent from the public eye for a couple of weeks now, save for the necessary trips to the homes of his patients. Life is quiet, as he likes it.

Valleana (Va11eana): She will remain in Valtash for another week or so.

Yoshi (KitsuneNineTails): The kitsune has been seen recently measuring things and people at the Silver Moon Inn. Why? Who knows with Yoshi. That is never a good sign.

Zelphina (XZeIphina): Still missing.

Zohak (ABafflingEnigma): He learned a new word recently. Violence. That word struck a cord within him the very instant he heard it. Now he is having to learn how to deal with what it truly means.
