Proboards -vs- Cons PDF Print E-mail
Written by SM, on 14-07-2007 13:32

The administrative staff, also known as the Ink Wire Associates, would really like to know what our members think about the state of the new website.  As such, we have included a recent new poll for your voting needs.  SM can only hope that she covered all the bases this time around.  If nothing close to your own answer is listed, then by all means feel free to "contact us" with your additional comments and opinions concerning the state of the forums...

Our forums have been up for debate for a very long time.  Before we ever had a fully functional website to use to our advantage, SM created a message board forum using the free service known as proboards.  Now, proboards is great in some respects, but it fails in other categories.  For one, it's full of ugly ads that we could do better without.

Recently, our chief administrator, the man responsible for all the visual pretty you see before you, sent SM an e-mail saying: "I can integrate a new forum as well as advanced profiles with community builder. Let me know."  This was also brought up in a Staff Bulletin thread on the proboard forum and has been up for discussion for several days now.  Members of the IWA would very much like to dispose of the ad-littered forums and try for something new, but ultimately we need the support of our members to make such a decision.  Hence the poll.

Please share with us your thoughts and opinions on this matter.  Feel free to ask questions.  Such as: "what does Mike mean by advanced profiles with community builder?"  We're here to keep you informed.  That's what we do.  We share and distribute relative information.  We're also here to make this site the best it can possibly be.  With your help, of course.
