Before there was Pharos, as some of you old-timers may remember, there was the Stars End Bar. Harkening back to the good old days, Dragon's Mark is trying to rekindle the flames and bring back one of the most talked about and beloved settings for those of the spacer generation. Head administrator Panther made this announcement concerning the Stars End Bar and Grill, and all that will be done to bring this project into role-playing reality, earlier this evening. We here at Mutual Endeavors are spreading the word! Check it out!
As your Mutual Endeavors exclusive cover story, we have some insight to share on this as well. Directly from the Panther's mouth, it was decided that the SEB would be added to the rest of the standard RDI @ Dragon's Mark forums. An entirely new category will be added to the list, and will be including at least two immediate forums. As stated in the news release on the RDI site itself:
"Stars End Sector will be the container for two new forum sections. Stars End Spaceport will be the 'general purpose' forum for folks to post their SEB based threads. Stars End Bar and Grill will be the first 'player forum', used for holding player requested sub-forums."
Additionally, a new room will be added to the flashchat in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled for the Stars End Bar in the lists, as well as the Mount Yasuo setting's Ivory Lotus Pavillion Tea House. "There will also be a page under the Settings menu where you'll be able to read the base setting descriptions for the SEB and other landmarks around the Spaceport (as well as the Spaceport itself)."
The decision to host the SEB on the RDI @ Dragon's Mark as opposed to creating its very own site was made due to the fact that, well, even Pharos doesn't get as much traffic as most people might have hoped for. Nor does the much more often talked about Rings of Honor. It seems that the majority of the role-playing community sticks to the tried and true Red Dragon Inn, as it has done for many continuous generations.
It is with this thought that we here at Mutual Endeavors would like to remind the greater role-playing community of the existence of these alternative playing grounds. Sure, we all know and love the Red Dragon Inn, but there remain yet so many other places that have been left collecting dust for far too long.
Whenever you're feeling bored with the same old same old, be daring and poke around. Check out Rings of Honor, Pharos, and GreaterRealms. Read the setting descriptions and invite your friends to explore these new and not quite so new areas alongside you. Don't let them fade away, forgotten and neglected. Help us to help you keep the dream alive by supporting all these wonderful sites and all that they have created together, as well as all they will create together in the future!
