We are still small in number, but we are not few. With a member base into the hundreds now, I think Mutual Endeavors is doing much better now than it ever was. This probably has a lot to do with the fact that we now have a website. Four years ago I had never thought this would be possible. Certainly I had dreamed of creating a Mutual Endeavors website, but for the longest time I had settled on the thought that not all dreams were meant to come true. Boy how was I ever wrong.
I may have said it before, but I think it's always a good idea to give people praise where it's earned. I owe a lot of thanks for the success of this site to Mel, aka: elf_fu, for directing me to our webmaster in the first place. Had she not directed me on how to contact Mike, I never would have known what to do. We'd probably have some shabby little Geocities advertisement littered site that I couldn't be proud of as I am this one. Our member base has grown significantly since this website was created. We started with a small group of an obscure few. Some of those people have stepped out of the spotlight they once shared and hidden themselves away in the shadows of our community, but they're still around. Perhaps not as active and vocal as I might like, but maybe some day that will change. I can only hope. Heading into March now gives me pause to reflect and smile. Our domain name was acquired last June, and that's not so far away now. Mutual Endeavors the website launched in July of 2007 and look where we are now. I'm very glad for the members we've earned since then, and I'm always happy to see more joining up periodically. We certainly don't have the growth that places like BRPS has (see this month's Top Story! feature article in Ubique's Monthly), but that's because we're still new on this front. Our newsletter is as new to some as the webiste is as well, but I presume that's only because it's not as well-advertised as I'd like it to be. This does not surprise me. Even when it was simply a word-of-mouth AOL mailing string I rarely received new subscribers. Of course, now the only way I know if there are new subscribers is if I remember the last known total and take a look at the current one on the back end. I don't receive any notifications. Subscribing is totally anonymous, even more so than submitting to the newsletter. That said, I'm a little concerned about the next poll. All of the names listed for voting are characters known and played at Dragon's Mark. Only one of them, to the best of my knowledge, is active also on AOL. So I did something daring. I went to DM myself and advertised about the nature and meaning of Ubique's Monthly and how it is Here, There and Everywhere. My only hope is that it reaches people and encourages more players to vote. It seems a shame that the only people, as far as I'm aware, voting on who should be featured in the next issue of the newsletter are those who have registered here and make it a point to check back frequently. So I'm asking for your assistance. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and neighbors in playland to vote on this poll, particularly if they know the characters involved and are fans of them. Last month we had under twenty voters, and this month I'd like to see so many more. Last update: 05-03-2008 15:46
