2008 is destined to be exciting! Mutual Endeavors has been an actively running site for six months now, and that in itself is a milestone worthy of celebrating. We've reached our half a year mark! Crack open those bottles of champagne and pray that we last longer than a year. Your continued moral support has not gone unnoticed. My tremendous thanks goes out to each and every one of you who have expressed continued interest in the cause and spread the word to your friends and role-playing families. We can only continue to grow from here.
As you can see, the lates issue of Ubique's has finally been completed and published. It took me a small matter of five days to get all that information discourse typed and printed. Next month we plan for the newsletter to be less explanation and more actual news. Take a look at our message boards to see some notices on what is expected and what we are looking forward to. I have a feeling that it will be much easier to put together now that I have a month to work with. One certainty is that after six months I'm finally starting to better understand the Joomla! system that runs our site. I've learned how to set up user groups so that an increased interactivity will be possible in the future. I am not the only person capable of writing news, and mostly all you read now are site updates and personal opinion articles. I'd like to see some other things written by other people. This site is about more than just me (though the acronym is amusingly fitting). It is mostly about all of you. What is ME to you? Why, it's you of course! The flashchat is still not working quite the way I might like, and I'm not precisely certain how to fix that. Nobody uses it anyway, which is something I predicted. Maybe in the future it will see more use. Maybe players will toss off their shackles and fears and secret identities long enough at some point to be able to just sit around and shoot the breeze with one another. If only flashchats weren't so obnoxiously slow in comparison to the AOL rooms. Oh well. We've seen a lot of use of our forums for individual character stories and not a lot of interactivity, which is a shame. But I understand the difficulty. Some people don't like play-by-post. Some people are reluctant to ask if it's okay to join in. Some people don't know how to join in. Some people just don't care. That's the beauty of individuality. Most of the forums are used for general RP discussion, though, and that's fine too. We're up to near 4000 posts. When we hit 5000, I plan on tossing confetti all over cyberspace. Don't you worry. I will find a way! There's little left for me to say other than to continue babbling about my excitement concerning the future potential of our newly designed newsletter. So for now I'll stop here. Questions and comments are always welcome. Volunteers for virgin sacrifices need not apply. I've got plenty of goats. Last update: 05-01-2008 06:11
