What are user groups? User groups are a fun little member organization device incorporated into the Joomla! Community Builder program that allow Mutual Endeavors members to make the best out of their collaborative efforts experience. Every new member starts off as simply Registered which only allows basic read-only access to the ME website. The Registered ranking grants access to members only areas of the message boards as well as an ability to view the collective members list. Additionally, Registered members are free to enter the Mutual Chat any time they are signed into the site. There may also be a few other things we aren't telling you about. ;) This is why it pays to register! There is so much more beneath the surface of Mutual Endeavors than what you are seeing from the front page! What other rankings are there? In addition to the standard Registered ranking, and the authoritative Administrator (IWA Staff) ranks, there are three other user group levels available. These levels may be granted upon request, general vote of popularity and trust between members and IWA Staff, or just on a whim to see what you as an individual might have to offer with your areas of expertise in the greater worlds of role-play Internet-wide! Here are the three additional user group rankings: - Author - this group ranking allows members to create and edit their own individual content articles for any variety of categories. This content may include News articles and FAQs, and perhaps a few other things as well. This status only allows members to create and edit their own articles. Authors may not edit the works of others and they cannot publish their content without administrative approval.
- Editor - this group ranking works just like the Author ranking, except it further allows a member to edit the content articles created by other members. Editors may still not publish their content without administrative approval.
- Publisher - this group ranking goes that one next step higher. Publishers may create new content items such as News articles and FAQs, as well as edit articles created by other lower ranking members, and additionally it gives them the authorization to publicly publish their items. Of course, all decisions can be overridden by any administrative Ink Wire Associate.
How can I improve my membership ranking to become one of those? Well, that's easy! The first step is to contact an administrative Ink Wire Associate and to simply ask (but not the admin). This is, of course, no absolute guarantee that your request will be granted. So your best bet is to get involved. Take part in our message board discussions. Express an obvious interested in everything that is Mutual Endeavors and the spirit it embraces. Be certain to know our Terms of Use intimately. And of course, you also have to be a Registered member to begin with.
