As most of you are aware of by now, Ubique's Weekly has been indefinitely post-poned for quite some time now. I have not been feeling very motivated to write the newsletter since the last message about it back at the beginning of November. Maintaining this website, role-playing, and working on a dozen other creative projects at the same time has kept me distracted. Not to mention it's the season to be jolly, har-dee-har.
So I'm considering reinstating the Ink Wire Associates, as I've mentioned time and time again. Though this time, according to our forums, I'm looking for some suggestions for volunteers and nominess. Not to mention some opinions on whether or not anyone actually wants to hold an open election. There has not been as big a response as I might have hoped, but I understand. It's December. Everybody's crazy mad shopping and getting ready for the holidays. I would like to hire on a new set of Ink Wire Associates to take back up the tasks as outlined from their original institution back in November of 2004. My goal is to set up a group of able-bodied individuals who have their very own unique style of writing and journalistic voice. People who are not only creative enough to make the news interesting in fresh, but also people who can adhere to a strict code of format. In the past I had some trouble with previous Ink Wire Associates who wanted to send me glaring purple or green fonts that weren't even in the standard type face of the newsletter. While I appreciate individuality and a preference that is not black Times New Roman, when you put it all together in one big newsletter it just looks downright ugly, in my opinion, if the information doesn't conform. Look at any standard print newspaper on the market. There's a certain structure about them that doesn't deviate from the norm. Furthemore, I'm trying to decide whether or not to change the publication from a weekly newsletter to a monthly one. On the one hand I don't really want to have to change the name from Ubique's Weekly, because that's the name it's been for so many years! But on the other hand, there's an amusing sort of appeal to renaming it Ubique's Montly with the acronym of UM. Haha! As well as an ability to conform to the standard code and format of the newsletter as it has been for many years now, any potential candidates should review the last notice of IWA: Now Hiring! I know I have already had some volunteers, but before I go promoting anybody to anything I want them to make absolutely certain this is really what they're willing to do. Additionally, I'm setting up a new poll to get some opinions on whether or not to keep the newsleter weekly or to revise it to a monthly publication. Last update: 17-12-2007 08:15
