Now that I got my mini anti-interenet vacation out of the way, I've been working long and hard trying to make UW the best it can be. Some of you may very well be aware of the fact that I have started sending out test emails at the start of this month. My hope is to very soon publish the newsletter direct here from the ME site, which of course will require current subscribers to sign up over here using that handy dandy little tool on the front page. Some of you already have. I commend you curious few and thank you for letting me use you as guinea pigs this month. That is to say if everything went through according to plan. I still have some doubts on that.
So far I have sent out two test emails direct from the site. Those who have subscribed should be receiving emails from the address

If you haven't, please check your spam folders at this time. In the future, all UW issues will be sent from this new address, hopefully without complications. Though from what I've seen so far, I'm not 100% certain that the YANC mailer is working the way it should be. Whenever I send out a mailing, I get a strange series of error messages that look a little something like this: Mailer Error with address

:SMTP Error: Could not authenticate. Mailer Error with address

Those are only two of the confirmed subscribers that show on a list of eleven right now. I find it very strange, mostly because of the fact that I myself still receive copies of the email I sent. A test email, but at least it's making it into my inbox. I'm not too certain about the rest of you who are on the list, but I'm not going to list every address for privacy's sake. Additionally, as you all should well know by now, I'm hard at work constructing another contact form that I'm hoping to use in the future for all UW submissions. With any luck I'll get it all sorted out by the time I'm ready to launch the new UW project, but I had to take a break at this point in time so that my head didn't explode. I'm fully willing to provide a link here for people to take a look at the progress, but I must ask that you not use the form yet to submit me any information. The test form can be viewed here: UW Future Submission Form At this time I am taking any suggestions and advice that anyone may be willing to give. Also: any administrator can access this project through the back end and fiddle around with it as she chooses. (Look under components > performs.) It took me a little while to figure out just how to customize the current one myself, but according to previous news you are all full well aware that I know what I'm doing now. Again, please do NOT, under any circumstances, use the form linked to above just yet. It's not perfect the way I want it to be, and when it is I will provide an easily accessible link to it here on the main site. I just wanted to give all you members a heads up and keep you informed about what I'm working on this month. November is creeping in and I'd like to get all this work completed and ready before NaNoWriMo starts, since I won't be spending a lot of time administrating the site here when that happens. Your thoughts and opinions are of course encouraged and appreciated as always, so please don't be shy about expressing them. Last update: 15-10-2007 12:25
