Ubique's Weekly

A Mutual Endeavors Publication

Issue #93 ~ 15 September 2007

The Blurb

"The more I give myself permission to live in the moment and enjoy it without feeling guilty or judgmental about any other time, the better I feel about the quality of my work." -- Wayne Dyer

Good idea: writing Ubique's Weekly before another Saturday passes on by without me noticing it even existed in the first place.  Bad idea: writing Ubique's Weekly when I'm low on mental fuel and about ready to go find a coma somewhere in the depths of my pillow.

So the thing is, I didn't receive a whole lot of updates this week.  This does not come as a surprise to me at all.  Not receiving submissions from people is something I've become rather accustomed to after all these many long years of compiling this newsletter.  But there's hope!  That hope being the fact that often times I truly am here, there, and everywhere.  If I had boy parts, I'd insist you call me Mr. Universe.

Can't stop the signal.

In Other News...

To those of you who did send me updates this week, you have my tremendous and unending thanks.  You know who you are.  Also: holy crap I missed an update or two from last week (sorry!) that I'm adding in.  To those of you who didn't send me updates: please, please oh please, don't rely on my memory.  I may end up writing things you just don't like.  Things that might make you wonder: how did she find out about that?  Makes the head spin a little, doesn't it?

Allen Baird (A Flaming Flamer):  The so pretty he could be a model blonde has been seen frequently this past week in the public eye.  Mostly he has been spotted at the Rambling Rose Tavern, but this is no surprise.  His husband, Mike Harada, does on occasion do the owners of the bar a favor by playing bartender.  Now if only the newly-weds could keep their hands and mouths off of each other long enough to actually do a job well done, eh?

Ambrose (his sullen craft):  There is a rumor floating about that the Elder is contemplating his end of times.  Recent news on this is uncertain, but rumor has it there's a story written up somewhere that sheds just a little bit of light on the subject. ;)

Andreas Montalban (Wholedangthing): This little old man appeared out of no where listening quietly and offering what advice he could.  Is the old saying true about 'cold hands, warm heart'?  If so how hot is heart?

Colleen MacLeod (PrlUnicorn):  Collie was spotted at the Rambling Rose Tavern just this weekend.  Word has it that she was enjoying a little quality time playing the flirting game, saying hello to a few old friends, and buying a round of drinks for the house.  All this before she took her leave.  It's good to see the old broad out and about again.  She's good for business!

Dris (BardGaIIant)There's a buzz in the air that says the musician finally caught up with his nephew a couple weeks back.  But what that long overdue talk lead to still remains a mystery.  He hasn't been seen in the public since.

Faye: She Who Tends the Dead (Faye Random)Been a long time since anyone's heard anything about this aloof fae.  She has indulged in quite a few frequent visits from Ambrose this past month, however.  Just what could they have possibly been talking about?

Gale Soames (I like AIexander):  It may very well be possible that things are looking up for the fencer.  Since the incident outside the Rambling Rose Tavern last week, he hasn't been seen.  But there have been quite a few unmoderated whispering rumors floating around the Garden about a mysterious Spaniard paying the Headmaster a visit.  Is it true that his good name is finally going to be cleared?  We shall see.

Gray (Wholedangthing): A dire wolf has been stalking the streets of RhyDin. Some drunks even claim that it talked to them.  No losses other than pets and meat hung out to dry.  Residents are warned to remain wary.

Harold Lowe (HGLowe):  Spotted at the Rambling Rose Tavern once again at the end of this past week!  Eye-witnesses report that he had an opportunity to reacquaint himself with some old friends that he hadn't seen in gods only know how long.  Not to mention having made a few newer acquintances as well.

Icarus Marcotte (SubtIe Iies)The half-dragon is rumored to have been skulking around the Rambling Rose Tavern earlier this week as well.  To the best of our knowledge he has continued to be his usual flirtatious, somewhat lecherous, self.  If he knows anything about the whereabouts of Dris, he hasn't been revealing anything.  What's it take to get some secrets out of the guy?

Irina Braeden (Irina Braeden): After suffering a rather nasty case of recurring Foot In Mouth Syndrome with regard to Allen (A Flaming Flamer) recently, the pregnant Artist has decided to let things cool down a bit, so she's staying home to get ahead on her mechanicals.  Irina's still on an olive kick, though crab legs, cheese cake and sour cream are also big faves, thanks to the baby in her belly.  Definitely not mixed together, that's gross!  Hold the eggs, though, they're a big no-no.  The Artist helped out Tom (I LikeShiva) last week, after witnessing his ass kicking by Quinn (QuinnNorcross) and Gale (I like AIexander).  This is surprising news, since the tall and bald SeeD PR team member did a love 'em and leave 'em maneuver on her early last year, which supposedly burned bridges between the two.  Are there still feelings for Tom on Irina's part? Stay tuned to find out.

Jacob Arche (Jacob Arche):  Holiday's come and gone and more to come, Jacob's been working double shifts and wishing he wasn't. He had hoped to score Labor day off, but that wasn't to be as several surgeries were scheduled that day. He hasn't had time to stop more than once into a tavern, only to note that people who weren't together before, are, and people who were, aren't. Confused to say the least, he's returned to the small office he's been given here in Rhy'Din, and has plans to try and drum up a charity drive for the local R.S.P.C.A (The Rhy'Din Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) soon.

Quinn Norcross (Quinn Norcross):  By now he should totally be used to people hitting on him.  After all, he's the nephew of the Rhy'din famous bard/musician/craftsman better known as Dris.  Pretty just sort of runs in the family.  But he should really learn to not encourage married men from hitting on him.  That just leads to all kinds of unwanted drama.

Salvador Delahada (Karmic Venganza):  It's been a busy, busy, busy week.  This is not a complaint.  He's actually very happy to have things to do, and this has been proven true in the fact that the Linewalker's child has been in an extremely good mood as of late.  People should start checking their calendars and count down to Armageddon!  So he's decided to help Gale clear his good name by confessing to the murder the fencer got blamed for.  Not so thinly veiled threats might not have been the best way to go about it, but diplomacy really isn't his strong suit.

Sinjin Fai (Sinjin Fai)Seems that Sal being in a good mood keeps Sin in a good mood.  Which is probably a good thing considering the amount of stress the Ravnos has been going through trying to cope with his stupid Father being potentially more emo than he usually is himself.

Suliss'urn (Natha Oreb): Once again the black skinned creep fest known as Suliss'urn has appeared randomly. Randomly showing up on Tuesday night at the Rambling Rose Tavern, it was a touching evening for all. Most didn't know what to do with the black-skinned killer chillin' perched on the chairs. She approached Alysia Sky and had a most interesting conversation about 'him' and 'cleaning'. The Rhilshen was mentioned, but the pale Empress' did not stay long. Later, Sin dropped by to say hello and comment about the fact she'd been scarce. During the heart warming get-together of riddles and rhymes a white snake (not the band) uncoiled itself and fell from the ceiling to inspect the drow and vampire.  Suliss' isn't quite sure yet what to make of the snake. She has promised once again not to slaughter too far from home.

Storyboard ArchiveThe freeform role-playing group more commonly known as Mutual Endeavors had once added its storylines and characters to a message board forum for player convenience.  It was decided that it would be beneficial to allow players a less time-restricted venue in which to present their characters' stories and participate interactively.  Since that time, things have changed and this old forum is now a read-only resource, but still worth checking if you're up for some good reading.

Final Thoughts

"Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly itflips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come." -- Matt Groening

So like I said, it might be a bad idea for me to have taken the time to compiled all this shortly before going in search of my coma.  I'm sure there's a lot more news out there somewhere, but I just don't have the energy of thought to go searching for it all.  Character updates and the usual classifieds are all you get this week!  Deal with it!  Not that I really think anyone really cares.

If the voting on our official Mutual Endeavors website continues going as it has been for the past several weeks now, it looks as if I may be encouraged to start compiling and sending this weekly newsletter on Mondays.  Not 100% certain on that, though.  Still seven more issues to go before I make my final decision on the future of this newsletter.

So until next time, I'll continued to be...

Keeping you informed,
