M.E.'s T.O.U. (Mutual Endeavors Terms of Use), state that I can't share OOC information on the boards. What does this mean?

This means that such information including but not limited to:

  • Player's/Mundane's name
  • Player's/Mundane's address
  • Player's/Mundane's secret identity
  • Player's/Mundane's alternate alias
  • Player's/Mundane's phone number
  • Player's/Mundane's alternative characters
  • Player's/Mundane's alternative screen names
  • Player's/Mundane's image (not of the character, but the human)

This information should NEVER be posted on the Mutual Endeavors forums without the explicit verifiable permission of the individual in question.  Except in the case where said individual has already provided this information to the public in some provable fashion: whether it be in their ME profile, on the ME forums, or on an alternative public access site that can be linked to for verification.

But you guys post Screen Names from Instant Messenger conversations all the time?

'All the time,' no. Do we post screen names? Occasionally, yes.

This isn't meant to break our own T.O.U. These I.M. conversations are generally from the "Tickle Me," girl chained up in a dungeon, or the guy who IM's every.single.female.character. in the Medieaval Tavern asking if they'd like to role play with him and his horse.

Those kinds of IM's, as well as those by spam bots and the likes, are generally acceptable. Their names are already plastered about the internet in infamy.

However, should the Tickle Me girl or Horse Boy ever protest, we would remove them. We're just that cool.

What about private correspondence such as instant or private messages?

This information is acceptible only if other involved parties have granted their express permission for such information to be posted publicly.  Private means private, and is generally understood to be synonymous with the word secret.  People often discuss things behind closed doors with the utmost confidence and do not like their less than polite moments to be plastered all over the Internet without their express permission.

We understand that forging such permissions is possible, and any article suspected of being posted without the above-mentioned courtesy will be investigated.  Exercise your freedom of speech with caution.

All righty. So the staff can post whatever they want, and the rest of us can't?

Absolutely not.

Should you see any staff members posting something that violates the T.O.U for M.E. contact M.E. immediately at:  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
