Well hello there, Monday. PDF Print E-mail

Another weekend has come and gone, and once again the Nefarious SM has failed to compile and circulate another issue of Ubique's Weekly. x.x  Shame on you, SM!  Shame on you all to heck!  This is starting to become very disconcerting, let me tell you.  I just can't seem to find the time to put the news together: for players, by players.  Hopefully that problem will remedy itself soon.  In the meantime...

On a high note, there has been a surprising increase of new members flocking to our little site, and this pleases me immensely.  I have no idea who half these new people are, but that's okay!  Mutual Endeavors welcomes one and all.  Especially those in support of FFRP as it happens still to this day on AOL.  I'm glad to know I'm not the only one out there who strives to fight the good fight.  Maybe some day we'll be able to convince the RDI crew to give America Online another shot.  Who knows what the future holds?

Mike's recent site updates have brought with them a couple of bugs that I just can't figure out how to fix.  For those of you who understand what I'm talking about, the old JACLplus seems to have gone kaput.  I can't reorganize a lot of my administrative staff as I see fit, and that's annoying.  Can't even properly access the IWA Only section of our site, something which standard members have no clue about.  But us Ink Wire Associates should be able to see it, and currently we cannot.  Bummer.  Hope to get these problems sorted out soon so that we can better serve our community.

Regarding the newsletter, it just seems that I keep forgetting Saturday exists.  Worked well when I started the revival of Ubique's Weekly, but something happened somewhere along the line that has me skipping out on Saturdays altogether.  I'm considering changing the publication date week-to-week again, but I dunno.  It might just be easier to hand the reigns over to someone else.  UW was fabulous in theory, but with these new changes, the website and all, it isn't as spectacularly informative as it used to be.  This may just be my opinion.

Today I'm putting up a new poll to gather some opinions concerning the future circulation of the newsletter.  August is almost over and done with, which means our overhaul work on the forums is coming to an end.  There really isn't much left for us to do on the Fireboard anyway, and everybody seems to be adapting to them beautifully.  Here's a brief moment of thanks to all of you who have put it to good use so far.  Thank you!

This coming Saturday I'll be closing off the old Proboard completely.  That means I'm locking down all the boards over there so that members can no longer post to them or reply to old threads.  It'll stand as an archive only site for as long as the world wide web decides to keep it operational.  I wash my hands clean of it for now.  While I hope to never use it again, as previously stated, who knows what the future holds?

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up and drop a little note again.  Weekends really aren't my thing anymore.  Never really have been.  Especially when I keep forgetting they exist.  I remembered by Sunday morning, when I was on my way to my weekly D&D game, that I was supposed to have written a newsletter the day before.  Then I wondered where Saturday went.  Oh well.  That's life for you.

Stay tuned.

Wouldn't that rock?

I would love to see UW continue; maybe open it up to guest writers? Or rotate the writing of it with other interested people?
