Been a looong time coming! A few short minutes ago, I, the Nefarious SM, completely and successfully uploaded all past issues of the notorious Mutual Endeavors newsletter known as Ubique's Weekly to the website. It took about a week and a half's worth of work, and I'm not 100% certain that I can say it's perfect, but it's there! It's finally there!
To date: there are a grand total of 87 issues of Ubique's Weekly in circulation. From our humble beginnings with the very first newsletter on August 17, 2003 to today. I'm proud to say that we've been around that long! Of course, most of you well know about the falling out that occurred two years ago when I just plain gave up on writing the newsletter all together. We have quite a history. It was on May 25, 2005 that I sent out what I thought to be my last email to the subscriber mailing list for Ubique's weekly. The 17th of that same year is when I thought my last issue had been written. Good old number 80. But times change, and eventually I pulled myself out of whatever sick little hole I had been hiding in for so long. Thanks to the encouragement of our current Assistant Chief Editor K, we're back in circulation today. Yeah, hi. I rhymed. We're trundling along with 7 issues into the new regime. Slowly but surely we're getting ourselves back on our feet. The archive here on the main site is what I've always wanted it to be on my old geocities site, but so much better. Much quicker to upload too! It took me considerably less time to C&P all those old issues to the Joomla system than it would have taken me to hand code everything into good old fashioned HTML. Trust me, it was a nightmare. I must confess, however, that for some reason our site isn't very fond of the standard format Times New Roman that we've always used for Ubique's Weekly. It simply didn't transfer over well from the old emails I had saved to the Joomla templates. You'll see it gets rather ugly from archived issues 56 to present day. As soon as I can convince someone to take on the role/job of archive editor, we'll get that all sorted out and looking much prettier than it does now. You might be asking what's in store for the future for Ubique's Weekly. From time to time you might have even noticed the link in the sidebar menu for our happy little publication. It is our goal to eventually send out the newsletter directly from this site here, but we still have to figure out how the system works before we venture into that endeavor. Enjoy the resources we have available for you as they now stand. Please be patient while we work with our new system. And as always, I hope that you all are enjoying this site as much as I am.
