In addition to the new release of the Fireboard forum for view by the public, Mutual Endeavors has incorporated another system that was inspired by an inquiry made by our alternate administrator Mel. On the proboard, she asks: "You're going to hate me, but there's one more thing to ask Mike--the ability for members to comment on the news items on the front page. You've made some great posts I would not have minded making a comment or two in thanks, appreciation or whatever but at the moment, we can't comment to any articles."
Concerning this, I sent that precise quoted inquiry to Mike last night before venturing off to bed. This was the largest addition he responded to as a whole. I signed onto the website this evening to discover that he had indeed installed a new "advanced commenting system." This system makes complete use of the fully integrated community builder system that was previously added during the early stages of site creation for Mutual Endeavors. According to Mike: "...there are a TON of features and settings. You can tweak it however you like." We were made well aware of this from the beginning, but the rest of the administrative staff can hardly claim to be as big an expert as the man who helped us see our dream become a reality. I'm currently going to leave the settings as they are, but I'd like some opinions on the matter. Does it look too gaudy? Are there buttons we could do without? This isn't just my site. Not just SM's site. This site is fully intended to be the cummulative dream by players, for players. So please don't be quiet. I value all your thoughts and opinions. Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. I'm a big girl. I can take it. Clearly, this advanced commenting system allows you members to respond to the news much like you would threads and comments left on message board forums. Does it take away from the clean and simple style of the original design? Or is it an improvement? What do YOU think? Last update: 24-07-2007 22:00
