New Forum Release PDF Print E-mail
Written by SM, on 24-07-2007 21:51

After about a week and a half of work and debate, the administrative staff here at Mutual Endeavors has finally perfected the general layout, look and feel of the Fireboard test forum that has been discussed recently. Announcements were made on the old proboard forum concerning this potential change. Since that time, the IWA has been working round the clock trying to figure out how best to undergo this project. The Nefarious SM sent a detailed inquiry to the man who helped us put this all together, and virtually overnight a lot of the issues we were facing were fixed with reasonable compromise...

I logged on tonight to receive an unexpectedly quick response in my inbox from Mike. He took the time to discuss what he was working on with FAQ guru and alternate site administrator Mel. I must confess how amazed I am by the quick response and work done to perfect what was started. After reviewing the additions and changes, I have decided to release the new forum to the public. But there is quite a bit to discuss concerning its use.

Interactively speaking, the new Fireboard forum is completely integrated and compatible with the previously mentioned community builder program.  ME members will only ever need to sign on to this one site in the future. Registration remains completely free and totally unmoderated. Once registered, members can sign into the site and access many features that nonregistered visitors cannot. We will soon be replacing the forum link at the top of the page to take users straight to these new fully interactive Fireboard forums, instead of opening a new window that links to the old proboard.

Our goal is to transfer everything over from the proboard to this new Fireboard. Naturally, this project will take a great deal of time. Alternate administrator Mel has volunteered to do a vast majority of the work on the conditions of people who do not regularly check the boards themselves. We are hoping that all ME members will register their old proboard usernames here to this site and transfer most of their posts on their own. I know this sounds like a lot of work, and it probably will be. We're only asking for your continued cooperation in supporting the dream that is Mutual Endeavors.

We hope that you enjoy the new Fireboard forums as much as you did the old proboard. Don't panic, though. SM has no intentions of completely obliterating the old proboard any time in the near future. Not until all those old posts have been saved somewhere else on this site. Whether we have to archive them in new content sections or not. However it must be done, it will be done. We know a lot of you put a lot of hard work into creating your old posts to begin with, and it would be a tremendous shame to lose those creative works of literary art.

If you have any questions or comments concerning these changes, please do not be shy. Feel free to respond. Concerning that...? Well. That's another bit of news entirely.
