1. Update
No data would be lost. I'll simply make a full backup of the site files and database just in case something goes wrong. I can do a restore in less than five minutes that way. In all likelihood, things won't go wrong. I have the center code already, since I wrote it. So all I would need to do is put it back in the right files. I'd download local backups of the templates and the entire forum files as well. That would allow me to easily find the color codes used (mostly #660000, #FFFFFF, and #000000) and pop them back into the template. There may be a way to simply use the same CSS file, since the updated version will definitely use the CSS file. All in all, it wouldn't be terribly difficult. Should take 30-60 minutes.

1. Take a break!
I thought you were taking the rest of the weekend off! :p

Go ahead and do it, though. I just feel like you've done SO MUCH for us already. Sometimes it feels as if I didn't pay you enough for this much work.

2. Theme
The colors can be changed of course. No need to settle, but let's not nitpick to death lol. The new default templates look nice, but they wouldn't really match. There are a few templates out there for the forum, though. Might want to consider some of those. Although, I usually focus my priorities on function before form. The look can always be changed rather easily, though tediously. It's the coding that makes smoke billow from your ears from time to time. :x

3. Colors etc.
Ehz: I swear, if I could take an IWA position, I would. What I more meant, though, was that I can do graphic design... meaning, banners, buttons, etc. So if you wanted a new banner or new graphics, you could just tell me what colors and that, or what sort of feel, and I could whip you up a handsome package of whatever you need.

Mike: If you and the other admins find a theme you like with the upgraded board, other than this one, just let me know what the base colors are and that and I can make you site graphics to go with it.

4. RE: Colors etc.
There are 20 themes on the Fireboard site. I took a quick peek at them. I don't see any that would really match the overall ambience of this site. Some may be used as general layouts coding wise. Have a look see here.

5. Theme
I think the blue_vis one is gorgeous, I could make a totally incredible graphics set to go with it. But you guys are the bosses, that one just really caught my eye. I love the blue-to-pale green fade it has on the bars.

But yeah, you're right: function first.

6. :p
Yeah, see, I don't like the Blue theme at all. xD

We aren't going to be able to please everyone, color wise. Never will. We can either offer color options, or just make sure the theme we have is readable, legible, and working well.

Ezh is the big wig, she'll do, ultimately, what she feels is best.

7. :-P
Hey, it's the admins' call. That was just my vote. I fully admit I have an eye for vibrant color, not always in line with others. Whatever you guys figure out is okay; ultimately, content above looks.
