IWA Elections 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 41
This morning I thought of a FAQ based off of something I say a lot. Something that I imagined might have people wondering. So I went ahead and made up another one on: What is the spirit of Mutual Endeavors?

After writing it, I got to thinking even further. Currently we have 130 members in our Collective, which may include multiple usernames registered by the same few people. That happens rather frequently in role-play groups. We all like to hide behind the masks we create at times. Give ourselves different personalities to express. Keep people who don't know any better from guessing.

In any case, if the spirit of Mutual Endeavors truly is a democracy, then I realized there needs to be a whole lot more voting going on. Particularly regarding who it is, besides myself, that runs this show.

As most of you are aware, I've been looking to hire on some new Ink Wire associates since September. Fewer of you are aware of the fact that one of our IWA members has stepped down from her post. That leaves two of us, and one web design guru shadow who isn't involved at all in any of the politics.

You may have also noticed that it's been some time since I've bothered compiling an issue of Ubique's Weekly. I really haven't had the patience for it. Been too busy working on other things, such as contributing to a few wikis and transcribing story posts to Greater Realms. On top of that I've also been running this site, which is no easy task for one woman to do alone.

I'm not certain yet precisely where I need help. On the one hand I'm reluctant to give up control over UW and hand it off to someone else, but at this point I really feel that I need to. For that I need someone artistically expressive in prose, creative enough, to make it look pretty and not boring. Someone who can spice it up week to week, make it new and exciting.

I'd also really like for someone to take charge of monitoring the message boards. Not that there has been a frequency of posting lately, but who knows what the future holds? A forum administrator only really needs to have a sharp eye on the constant look out for accidental double posts. We don't believe in deleting anything, remember?

There is, of course, also the issue of potentially learning to use Joomla!

With all that in mind, is there anyone out there who might be interested in taking up the reigns of an administrative Ink Wire Associate title? Is there anyone who anyone else might like to nominate for a leadership position? Most of all, would you all be interested in holding an election of some sort if the nominees have decent enough credentials? In the spirit of democracy, which Mutual Endeavors embraces fully, I'd really like to know what the people think.

So. Tell me.

I think that I can help with UW, but I don't have nearly the number of connections in the roleplay community that you do and would need at least some help compiling character updates and storyline spotlights.

I can, however, write some decent articles. My biggest problem with being willing to take on all of UW myself would be the size of the project, versus the constraints of having children and other projects. Still, I'd put forth my best effort. I did a decent enough job on the Oracle while I was there.

I still have enough connections around the RP world that I know what's going on before others do. It's odd, really...

So I'll help you Steph if you need it. I'm not at all interested in writing, but I'll give the info that I do know so you can do it

As far as the board monitoring.. I do that already on RoH, and in part on RDI (not offically on the RDI, but that don't stop me). So, just lemme know what ya want, who you want it done to.. and how much you'll pay.

Tass, as many times as I've said this, I'll say it again: You're a class act.

Hahaha! Yes! You keep me smiling, Tass. I'm so glad you joint us crazies over here as well.

I'll definitely put you both onto the list for consideration. As well as Navarra (again no pressure!) whom I've had under consideration for some time now. It's just a matter of willingness.

I don't want to lump more work than wanted on people, though. If you really want to monitor the forums, though, Tass... That would be awesome. We'll just have to see what others think of you being handed the whip to crack. XD

Steff, I really appreciate your offer to help with UW. I'll definitely keep that in mind too.

Understand this isn't a decision I plan on jumping into immediately. It'll take some time. Some thought. Some opinions from other people (which I ask for all the time but so infrequently get). There's got to be a way for me to set up a limited poll. I'll look into that while I'm thinking and waiting for more feedback.

No rush. The offer stands for whenever you need/want me.

i think i told you see, but i forget everything -- if someone is willing to trade off weeks with me to take care of UW, that would be manageable for me. or if we decided to make it bi-weekly, or even monthly -- you might be able to get more responses for character stuff that way as well and have a more full article over all. that i could do.

Now that I could do way easier. Switching off every other week would make it half the load. It's just coordinating how.

Would you all be able to handle covering a single section every week?

I wouldn't know why not. I'm pretty handy with the writing thing.
