This morning I thought of a FAQ based off of something I say a lot. Something that I imagined might have people wondering. So I went ahead and made up another one on:
What is the spirit of Mutual Endeavors? After writing it, I got to thinking even further. Currently we have 130 members in our
Collective, which may include multiple usernames registered by the same few people. That happens rather frequently in role-play groups. We all like to hide behind the masks we create at times. Give ourselves different personalities to express. Keep people who don't know any better from guessing.
In any case, if the spirit of Mutual Endeavors truly is a democracy, then I realized there needs to be a whole lot more voting going on. Particularly regarding who it is, besides myself, that runs this show.
As most of you are aware, I've been looking to hire on some new Ink Wire associates
since September. Fewer of you are aware of the fact that one of our IWA members has stepped down from her post. That leaves two of us, and one web design guru shadow who isn't involved at all in any of the politics.
You may have also noticed that it's been some time since I've bothered compiling an issue of
Ubique's Weekly. I really haven't had the patience for it. Been too busy working on other things, such as contributing to a few wikis and transcribing story posts to
Greater Realms. On top of that I've also been running this site, which is no easy task for one woman to do alone.
I'm not certain yet precisely where I need help. On the one hand I'm reluctant to give up control over UW and hand it off to someone else, but at this point I really feel that I need to. For that I need someone artistically expressive in prose, creative enough, to make it look pretty and not boring. Someone who can spice it up week to week, make it new and exciting.
I'd also really like for someone to take charge of monitoring the message boards. Not that there has been a frequency of posting lately, but who knows what the future holds? A forum administrator only really needs to have a sharp eye on the constant look out for accidental double posts. We don't believe in deleting anything, remember?
There is, of course, also the issue of potentially learning to use Joomla!
With all that in mind, is there anyone out there who might be interested in taking up the reigns of an administrative Ink Wire Associate title? Is there anyone who anyone else might like to nominate for a leadership position? Most of all, would you all be interested in holding an election of some sort if the nominees have decent enough credentials? In the spirit of democracy, which Mutual Endeavors embraces fully, I'd really like to know what the people think.
So. Tell me.
