Some times in the past when I've said I can't do something, someone would sign me up for it anyway and then I'd be all :/ and they'd be all > : - ( and I'd be all "Well :O?" and so maybe that sounded harsher than it should have--I probably should have put "to clarify," or something so it wasn't all >:-S

One of the things I don't like about Wiki is that, as been said, anyone can contribute. Why? Because information in things like Wikipedia are not necessarily the facts. It is, like all historical text, history from the point of view of an individual.

When it comes to Rhy'din as a whole, this is why a Wiki would be a good idea. Think about it. EVERYBODY has a different vision of the idea of Rhy'din. A wiki could provide away for all those ideas to come together and help form a more unified collective understanding in the great big conglomerate of the creative subconscious.

alright... as I mentioned... (I think) this is something I had actually started to put together a few months back cause I had a domain with nothing going on with it, and thought it would work good for it.

Then when applying some mods, I screwed 'broke it' and got busy with other things.

Since the topic came up, and met with some generally good reception, I figured it was worth trying to recover the back up and putting it online again.

I spent some (too much?) time this weekend getting the little bit I had back in place and adding to it... mostly in regards to how to add a page/topic and such, refining the categorization after some feedback from HG and others, and added a few more actual topics.

Anyway. It looks very nice and I hope you get a successful run with it. I'll have to browse it in further detail later and see if I can't add anything to it anywhere. I fully encourage everyone to make use of it.

Cool! However, knowing that more than a couple of people have reservations about the potential for wiki defacement, I have to ask this: does the www.realmofrhydin.com wiki log contributors, or does it allow for anonymous adds/edits?

Also, since I'm at work and have nothing appropriate to upload from here, I can't check -- are you allowing image uploads?

I know it's possible to allow uploads, I haven't really looked in to turning it on. I probably have enough storage it shouldn't be a problem tho.. will try to check on that tonight.

Right now, yes, it's anonymous. I'm sure we won't be able to keep it that way forever. There are different options.... there is some user authorization addons, and there's even one where I could tie it to the DM user base.

There's plusses and minuses to going either way.
