  1. Scheduled Full Site Backups - every morning at 7:30AM EDT, a full backup of the site will be created and accessible via the Plesk Control Panel. It will save seven rotating backups. On error, EZ will be notified via email.

  2. Logging Enabled - Weekly site logs will help pinpoint problems.

  3. Registration Update - This is an invisible update. It simply prevents the accidental or spam registration through the original user system, which was replaced with the Community Builder.

  4. Anonymous Contact - A simple checkbox was added to the contact form to help block spamming.

  5. Who's Online - The old who's online module has been replaced with a much nicer one. Features include tooltip popups with quick links to profile and contact.

  6. Community Builder Upgrade - At the request of Mel, the CB component has been updated to the latest release. This includes all plug-ins as well.

  7. CAPTCHA - The well known security image creator is installed. Now when registering, requesting a password, or emailing a member; a randomly generated, alphanumeric image must be typed into a box. This prevents spamming and spam registrations.

  8. Automatic Database Backup - Everyday, the database will be backed up and emailed to Ez. The database is where all of the site's articles, members, details, forum posts, etc. are stored.

  9. Latest Peeps - Now when viewing The Collective, the latest 10 members to register are displayed with their avatar. The portraits link to their profiles. AIM is also listed for quick reference.

  10. Joomla! - The Content Management System has been updated to the latest stable release. This addresses several bugs and improves security.

Wow, Mike. You've been busy. Just when I thought I had a large chunk of Joomla! figured out, you went and updated stuff on me! rofl

I was poking around the backend this morning trying to figure out what you were doing, but couldn't. Glad you left this post. Helps me a little bit, but leaves me a little confused still.

#1 Question: Is there a way to set it so that "latest members" thing only shows in the Collective and not in the IWA Staff list? It just looks like extra clutter to have it in both places.

I've got mixed feelings about the new who's online module. Just when I was getting used to the old neat list that matched colors and everything. Now we've got these bright yellow names showing up, and I'm not sure I like it. I do, however, like how when you hover over a name this little pop-up window shows a little bit more information. Especially gender pretties. That's nice.

Was wondering what that backup thing I got in my inbox this morning was too. Almost thought it was a virus bomb waiting to go off, so thanks for explaining.

Well, this leaves me with MORE to figure out. Glad you reminded me about the Plesk too. I forgot about that. Go figure. x.x

lol No problem.

That gender is a little buggy, though. It looks like its showing the little man to the top left of the little popup window when I hover over you. Though the background color is correct as pink. It may have something to do with the fact that you have more than two choices for the gender. I'm not entirely sure though.

Not too much to learn with the updates, though. The peeps online and new peeps are both modules. They do have settings, but not many and not complicated. Everything else doesn't require any extra learning.

To change where a module is displayed, go to the module manager, click the module you want to edit it, then there will be a list of all the menu items to the right. You can select any, all or none at all. I selected The Collective menu item for the New Peeps module. So now it shows there. I originally had it on IWA Staff as well, but I simply deselected the IWA Staff menu item in the list and saved the module so it doesn't show there any longer.

The Gender bug I talked about above is not a bug at all.

Female names are in pink and so is their background when hovering over their name. Also, it shows a female icon.

Male names are the same except blue and have a male icon.

ADMIN NAMES are listed in crimson. The color of their hover background is either pink or blue depending on gender. The little icon is the admin (gender) icon. It has a green coat.

The admin colors were throwing me off a tad.

It's so chibitastic and cute that I could melt. All tiny little business-person in a green coat. XD

Dear Mike,

I love you and want to have your babies.

In a strictly, "Thank you for helping out Ez," way.

But. (And there's always a but, isn't there?)

I have an issue. This issue is with Mutual Endeavor's Fireboard and how it handles quotes in replies.

If you hit "reply," and go to reply to a post where someone has quoted text, if you notice, the quoted text in the box of replied (below) are surrounded by a 1px dotted/dashed border with a different background color.

For instance, like so:

This means, somewhere within the CSS for this fireboard is a place where the CSS for quotes can be edited. I would like very much if we could put a border around them, or something more than what it is right now--because what we have right now is pretty much nothing.

If a user doesn't physically change the color or make the text italics or indicate some how, them selves, that it's a quote, it'd be really easy to mistake it as part of the rest of the text in a post. Not to mention, when one hits the "quote" button withint the Boardcode (not the quote found within the reply, delete, edit buttons) there really IS nothing to indicate there is a quote. Like this:

This is quoted text but you wouldn't know it unless I changed the look of the text somehow myself.

So, since I cannot access the CSS from the admin panel myself to see what our template looks like--could you please look into it and see if you can at least, put a small light gray dotted or dashed border around our quotes?

Thank you!
-Your Future Baby Momma,
Mel.
