So... This month's poll is going to be posted a little late. There are 31 days in May, though, so that's okay. It may just mean that our reporter will have less time to contact and interview a winner. The reason it's late is all my fault. I can't make a decision.
On the one hand, I'm considering not posting a poll in hopes that Tass will come crawling out of the woodwork. It's not right that last month's winner, the spotlight for this month's issue, didn't have a feature article. I'm still interested in featuring him as he deserves.
But on the other hand, of course, I don't want to be disappointed on the chance that he doesn't show up to complete his interview any time soon. I don't want to bet all my money on him only to lose.
So I did go back and look at the past polls. Of those characters who did not win the election, as it were, and make it into a feature article, here's what I calculated in:
- Amthy Oak - 6 votes, 2 nominations
- Colleen MacLeod - 2 votes, 2 nominations
- Corlanthis - 2 votes, 1 nomination
- Lola - 3 votes, 2 nominations
- Mesteno - 4 votes, 3 nominations
- Panther - 2 votes, 2 nominations
- Rena Cronin - 3 votes, 2 nominations
- Shylah - 7 votes, 3 nominations
- Sinjin Fai - 3 votes, 3 nominations
- Stormraven k'Leshya - 1 votes, 1 nominations
- Suliss'urn Xukuth - 6 votes, 2 nominations
Given that, I have some options. All depending on whether or not anyone steps up to the plate in the next day or so to drop any alternative nominations. I would still like to run a poll. Though I think I'm going to schedule it to run from Sunday the 4th until Saturday the 17th. That should still give our reporter two weeks to do her job.
If I don't get any further nominations, apart from Alysia and Suliss, what should I do? Should I go with the top choices from the list above, or should I go with the underdogs even higher up who haven't even seen a chance in our polls? What do you guys think?
