Some of you may not be used to message board play. Many of us are very new to it. Back in '99, when I first started on AOL, I was involved in an organization that did a lot of their role-playing on message boards. Some of you may remember the Order of the Crimson Star. Most of my beginning days of online role-playing took place through message boards.
It is my belief that this is a valuable tool and resource to be put at everyone's disposal. Message board role-play allows players to interact with one another without needing to be online at the exact same times. Stories can progress and be accomplished without needing to be present in a chatroom. It also opens up a door for those who may play multiple characters that could be involved with certain scenarios.
The entire purpose of this message board works under the original tenants of what Mutual Endeavors is all about. Our purpose is to work together, to collaborate, to keep each other informed and act as a team. Role-playing is a joint, collaborative, effort. It requires that everyone work together and keep everyone involved informed.
So I say to you, members of this group, this community, this message board, this site, please help me to help you keep the dream of freeform cooperative role-playing alive. Feel free to direct other people to this site, encourage them to register and join up. Our membership is small right now. I, for one, would like to see it grow. I would like to see Mutual Endeavors spread like a plague. Not a bad disease, but a mutually beneficial parasite.
Tell your friends, your fellow role-players, anyone you can possibly think of. Spread the word. Let's not be selfish. Let's share our dreams with anyone and everyone. Let's have our voices be heard. Let's tell our stories to the world.
Help me to help you keep the dream alive. Let's play!
