Setup:

Zonker will have taken a turn for the worse. Despite several surgeries to repair damage to his heart and lungs, machines will begin to keep him alive. The scene takes place a little less than 48 hours after initial hook up; the limit imposed by Zonker's living will/DNR instructions. After that time, all machines are to be disconnected and no further heroic measures are permitted. Prior to that deadline, messengers will be dispatched to those close to him so that they may offer their final words of farewell.
